Can’t remember an almost sunless week like this in Melbourne for a year or two.
Week? Feels like the majority of the year has been cloudy. I guess that's the reason why Melbourne is Australia's least sunny capital

Re: Becoming humid with showers, storms and rain: November 22-30

Wet day timetable here today. Rain looks to have set in and not moving anywhere according to the radar. 5mm since midnight.
El Nino is a failure this year so far (thankfully). Media needs to stop beating its drum.

Re: Becoming humid with showers, storms and rain: November 22-30

I actually dislike the way BoM is going about this event. The chance of storms today was only ever possible to the north of the city, yet they still went ahead with a "one size fits all" approach. They really need to split their forecasting to 4 regions for Melbourne and its outskirts

Re: Becoming humid with showers, storms and rain: November 22-30

Let's be clear, the chance of anything happening in Melbourne is exactly ZERO until the early hours of tomorrow. Everyone go back to what you are doing 😁

Re: Becoming humid with showers, storms and rain: November 22-30

Some very majestic tall clouds out there today but all seeming to form too much to my south - have not heard any thunder for a long time here. See what today brings, so far it hasnt really been playoung out like the models thought so its a matter of just watching to see where they form it seems... ...

Nice cell just now here. Absolutely teeming down. Queensland-style. Humid, no wind. Rain coming straight down. I expected a little something later, so this is a bonus.

Edit> thunder heard too

Re: Becoming humid with showers, storms and rain: November 22-30

Seems like this El Nino is delivering more widespread rain over Australia than last years La Nina.

Has been quite weak overall- OVERALL.

No long, hot dry days on end. Usually by now you'd be expecting that, but instead it's been quite normal/wet.

All overhyped to be honest. Expecting increased clouds, and then a storm somewhere over the northeast of the state, where nobody lives.
My prediction? 0mm for Melbourne. This morning's light show was it down here.

40mm here. Definitely happy. Did not expect it, despite models picking it a week out.

Re: Warming up to early season heat possibly followed by rain: Late September to early October

First September in about 15-20 years that has been this warm. The last few years have been quite cool and normal. Not sure what the panic is? Anyway, cold night coming up. Spring at its best. It is the wettest part of the year and this upcoming event to me is quite surprising in that we are in an el...

Re: Warming up to early season heat possibly followed by rain: Late September to early October

I'm Currently in Mildura and surrounds. Very green, and lush, even 150km past Mildura towards Broken Hill. The desert looks healthy with plenty of shrubs. No doomsday scenario just yet like some media will have you believe, and here's hoping for a mild El Nino, which it certainly looks like being fo...

Re: Early spring warmth/heat: September 12-?

Sneaky front dragging through Bass Strait atm. Might be the odd shower and a bit cooler, though still 4 or more degrees above average. Still warm to hot in the north. We kinda got lucky with this one in southern ares with this weak system introducing slight cooler air for tomorrow compared to earli...

Re: Early spring warmth/heat: September 12-?

Rubbish. There won't be a 30 degree day in Melbourne this September. Maybe in the usual outer south west suburbs or Geelong. Unseasonable early (maybe record breaking) warmth but it all falls apart around the 20th of September according to some models. 😀😀😀😀😀. Inland areas could be a different story,...

It's been a while since we've had weather like this. Definitely the worst of the year. Frequent gusts over 60km/h here and showery weather blowin almost sideways.

Chilly too. Currently 8 degrees with a wind chill below zero at times

Great reset is Alex Jones garbage. Seeing this not being called out is enough for me. I’m out. Yep, agreed. I can debate global warming with anyone at any time, and am happy to get views/points, but definitely don't believe in any of the extreme conspiracy garbage such as great reset, 15 minute cit...

Re: A cool showery end to winter

The resorts closing early are closing too early and losing money at their own peril. Snow is not done just yet. I have no idea who they're listening to but their (most likely greenies) consultants need to be sacked and replaced with people who think logically. They have no snow. It’s been a record ...
