Re: Warming up to early season heat possibly followed by rain: Late September to early October
I'm Currently in Mildura and surrounds. Very green, and lush, even 150km past Mildura towards Broken Hill. The desert looks healthy with plenty of shrubs. No doomsday scenario just yet like some media will have you believe, and here's hoping for a mild El Nino, which it certainly looks like being fo...

Re: Early spring warmth/heat: September 12-?
Sneaky front dragging through Bass Strait atm. Might be the odd shower and a bit cooler, though still 4 or more degrees above average. Still warm to hot in the north. We kinda got lucky with this one in southern ares with this weak system introducing slight cooler air for tomorrow compared to earli...

Re: Early spring warmth/heat: September 12-?
Rubbish. There won't be a 30 degree day in Melbourne this September. Maybe in the usual outer south west suburbs or Geelong. Unseasonable early (maybe record breaking) warmth but it all falls apart around the 20th of September according to some models. 😀😀😀😀😀. Inland areas could be a different story,...

It's been a while since we've had weather like this. Definitely the worst of the year. Frequent gusts over 60km/h here and showery weather blowin almost sideways.
Chilly too. Currently 8 degrees with a wind chill below zero at times

Great reset is Alex Jones garbage. Seeing this not being called out is enough for me. I’m out. Yep, agreed. I can debate global warming with anyone at any time, and am happy to get views/points, but definitely don't believe in any of the extreme conspiracy garbage such as great reset, 15 minute cit...

Re: A cool showery end to winter
The resorts closing early are closing too early and losing money at their own peril. Snow is not done just yet. I have no idea who they're listening to but their (most likely greenies) consultants need to be sacked and replaced with people who think logically. They have no snow. It’s been a record ...

Tonight's forecast is for partly cloudy and fog.

0.9 this morning here. First good frost of the year. This is more El-Nino ish. Cold nights mild days. Very strange that there are no strong cold fronts as el nino tends to throw up some cracker cold outbreaks. There are 2 more months of winter i suppose and the strongest fronts are usually August an...

Re: Long mid winter mild spell under westerly flow: July 12-
Another really mild one down here with a minimum of 10C. Snows all gone on the mountain 😩Climbed up it yesterday, was crazy windy with graupel blown by 100km/hr winds, but got quite mild in the afternoon. Should get a top up on Tuesday but then mild again on Wednesday and Thursday. Bit of a contras...

Re: Upper trough followed by deep slow moving low: July 3-10
Got insomnia? Look at Melbourne's 7-day forecast 😴 Yep. Out of all the seasons, winter is the most uninteresting. Cold but not quite cold enough for snow, but sure damn feels like it sometimes with the windchill. I wish we had a climate more like Seattle or Vancouver. Mainly mild winters with the o...

Winter in Melbourne is generally boring. Same story every year. Maximums from 13 to 15 nearly every day.Macedonian wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 11:16 pm Boring weather lately. We have been stuck in fog cloud for six of the last seven days. It's getting old fast!

That inland weather event looks like (for now) it will affect the NT and then NSW/QLD. Victoria looks to be too far west for any significant weather. Quite interesting weather coming up for Australia this week actually.

Re: Troughs and a low 5 June - ?
All I'm seeing is 16s and 17s next week for Melbourne, followed by 13s for next weekend. Hardly record breaking locally. For this week there was talk of 2 or 3 days of 20 degrees, yet it never happened. Yet again all i saw was 17s and 18s. Definitely wet however, by the look of it with no snow just ...

Related to the same system- sort of, large tracts of Nsw had their coldest May mornings on record, including western Sydney.

Re: Strong front followed by a week of westerlies: May 25-
Definitely looks like one of those short, sharp low level snow events that lasts a few short hours and then quickly turns too warm for snow. El nino still a 50/50 chance of happening, but is looking more likely as the weeks go on. Some of the best cold weather events happen in el nino years so should...

Re: Cool with some showers: May 16-23
Also, Weatherzone is reporting Melbourne has had it's coldest 6 day stretch for May in 42 years.
"For six days straight between last Tuesday and Sunday, Melbourne's maximum failed to exceed 15°C. That hasn't happened since May 1981."
I guess another useless but fun weather stat
