Re: Rain Event - Thursday May 30th - June 4th 2013

Wow - huge thunderclap sounded like an explosion and shook our house! Sounds like a serious storm overhead!

Re: Storms and rain Feb 25th-March 2nd.

Only recorded 3 drops (or was it 4) here in Camberwell East - the precipitation totally by-passed us. Have fun out East - looks more promising!

Re: Extended warm spell and becoming humid - Feb 6 to 24

Clearing up here, its over for me I think. Im watching 2 DJ flights from Sydney trying to get in to Tulla, been doing laps for nearly an hour, I wish I was on those flights, the view must be amazing and if you like flying, yure getting your moneys worth. Too bad if you hate flying or if you're in a...

Looking at the radar, the cell near Wallan seems to be splitting - left and right.

Re: VIC: Low Pressure System (10/2-?)

Probably a dumb question, but hey, I'll ask anyway. I've been looking at the VIS Sat pic on the BSCH site to see what's happening with the current system and the last few images are a streaky, blurry mess - like it often is. Looks like a piece of photo paper being dragged over the ground while in th...

Re: Vic - Potential showers/storms - 21st Dec to Boxing Day

Went out to take pics of the local Chrissy decorative light shows and ended up taking some shots of a much more spectacular light show! Watched 180º of CGs and crawlers from a spot in Burwood. A bit too far away for decent shots, but spectacular to watch. Best sparkles I've seen in a long time - and...

Re: Vic - Potential storms - 23rd Dec to Boxing Day

I was just reading a piece in the Fairfax Folly that forecast high 30s in Melb on Christmas Day with possible thunderstorms. The BSCH Stormcast is indicating that around midday on the 25th the weather might result in some anti-social behaviour with storm-chasers leaving Chrissy functions for a chase...

Re: Victoria: Low Pressure Trough 9th - 10th Dec

Hey Dc would love to see your photos of the CGs over the bay last night. I went down to Brighton at 11:30 and stayed till 01:30 in the hope that I might get a few shots of CGs over water, but apart from a couple of spectacular bolts, the lightning was all hidden behind thick low cloud. Still great t...

A lot of hype and expectation about this event, but I'm not sure it's managed to deliver on the hype.

And looking at the radar, its not over yet. Another red core has popped up near Meredith and heading east. Might make for some interesting shots over the bay for anyone with insomnia.

Re: Victoria: Troughy Period - 13th-16th November 2011

Great shots Steve - you don't need to chase, the storms come to you! I don't have any kind of a view from my place in mostly storm-free Camberwell East, so went out to a couple of vantage points around Balwyn and Doncaster. Apart from a spectacular crawler just as I arrived in one spot, and a few em...

Can see the sky lighting up with pulsing flashes from the action near Dandening to my SE but too far away as can't hear any thunder.
