Re: VIC - Strong frontal period - wind/rain - 16/8 to 22/8 2

Equal coldest day of the year with a top temp of 10.2C, the other last month. The wind hasn't been as bad today so venturing outside was just a little bit easier, still got my woollen jacket on though. Seems like spring is just around the corner with instability and warmer temps starting to creep in...

Re: VIC - Strong frontal period - wind/rain - 16/8 to 22/8 2

First decent coldies of the year I would say! The temp dropped to 5.9C at 3:30pm with a feels like of 1C! First time all year I have put on my thick woollen jacket.

6.0mm at home since midnight.

Re: Spring/Winter fronts - July 29 to August 15 2013

Took a 5 min drive from home to get a better view of this weak shelf cloud skirting the leading edge of the cold front. Getting light rain now and looks like it should pick up soon with the next band coming in. http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q579/wx-apocalypse/934a37e7-5913-407d-b61b-4bfc97719f...

Re: Spring/Winter fronts - July 29 to August 10 2013

The front is well and truly through here now. Seems to have calmed down a bit after a few hours of gusty winds, enough to make the west facing window shake and whistle. Max gust of 70km/h at the airport & 6mm in the gauge at home. Sky looking very different to this morning, not a single cloud to...

Re: Spring like fronts.. July 29 to August 4

It feels rather spring-like today despite being only 14C, the higher humidity and light wind making it feel so. Have had a few brief heavy showers here this afternoon, not much in them, plus a few sparks in the area. Hopefully a sign of what is to come for spring 5.4mm in total from rain early this ...

Received over an inch from steady rain overnight and through the morning. Very good for farmers in the area who have been waiting for rain!

Re: The Weight Loss Journey!!

Not game to get on the scales after eating all this chocolate over easter, I wouldn't be surprised to see the 7kg I've lost since Xmas show itself again. Think it's time to start walking and running now that it's getting cooler (I die in the heat - yes I'm a sook lol).

Re: Storms and rain Feb 25th-March 2nd.

A few mm for yesterday I think, someone (me) forgot to empty the gauge after putting the sprinkler on a couple nights earlier. Very humid, currently an advancing rain mass from the north inching ever so slowly. Most models are indicating at least 30mm today and tonight, heaviest with the passage of ...

Re: Extended warm spell and becoming humid - Feb 6 to 24

A few lightning pics from last night. I got home from chasing The Rock storm which didn't look very impressive (no structure but a bit of rain - water on side of road 15cm+ deep), had some dinner and was treated to a light show as it picked up a bit before Wagga. Had 4mm at home. http://i1164.photob...

Re: NSW/ACT: Day to Day Weather Talk

GFS is forecasting widespread unstable conditions this week, but in the absence of any trigger I am thinking that not much will happen, with the exception of today and tomorrow where a low pressure trough lies in the west of the state. Currently there are pulse storms in the Lower Western where DPs ...

Re: Vic Rain...Yeah That's Right Rain...Jan 31st-3rd Feb.

It's looking nice up there, I imagine there will be some strong winds with that squall. Rainfall is fairly widespread which is good to see, Coonabarabran has received 33mm and many areas in the Illawarra, Central Tablelands and Sydney Met. have had 10-20mm. I've heard reports of 1cm hail at Orange a...

Re: Vic Rain...Yeah That's Right Rain...Jan 31st-3rd Feb.

Was just outside putting washing on the line and felt drops of rain, looked up to see some patchy cumulus with a mostly blue sky above. They weren't very thick either, probably cumulus humilis. Can't say I've seen that before.

Re: NSW/ACT: Day to Day Weather Talk

Thanks Robyn! Today we see a return to hotter conditions after a cool 25.9c max on Wed. I think we will fall short of the forecast max of 40c, maybe by a degree or so, many would be nice... lol! Thankfully the next few days it cools down a bit, with SW winds tomorrow and tending southerly on Sun and...
