Frost here this morning after a single digit max yesterday and only 10.7° max today as well.
Gorgeous afternoon. Crisp, clear and about as warm as I ever need it to be!

Re: Becoming cold, wet and windy with a front followed by a deep low: September 4-7

I reckon yesterday's unseasonal heat and north wind was far worse than a good spring cold snap.

Re: Front followed by a low: August 10-15

-7.4° at at Trentham, -6° at Woodend, -5.6° at Kyneton, -4° at work in Macedon and -1.5° at my house in Mt Macedon. That's our first sub-zero for winter. Can't agree about the split system. I was in a tiny holiday cottage at Bright last week. Small space, big split system. Was warm if you stood on t...

Re: Front followed by a low: August 10-15

I looked this morning and YR.No was giving us a very cold Thurs and Friday. Five cm of snow and a zero degree max but now the whole shebang has vanished!
Too far out anyhow. Talk to me about it on Wednesday and I might believe it. :P

Re: Front followed by a low: August 10-15

Good to see a few mms for most of VIC this morning and a bit of snow on the alps. A fairly mild system, but just cool enough for the majors. Miss down in Tas with the system tending to split. Starting to dry our at home, with just 10mm for the months so far :( System for next week looks like stayin...

There is always someone with the ability to see the improbable if not the impossible.
I'm up at Bright. No snow visible on Mt Buffalo.
Can see some towards Mt Hotham but not a great deal.

Re: Becoming mild and windy, followed by a showery change: 3-8 August.

Had a glance back at the last few months on my PWS. After a very cold May this has been the most un-wintry winter I've ever known in the twenty years that I have spent at Mt Macedon. It's been one long endless un-exciting grey slightly above average festival of blah. These figures are for max temps ...

Crazy warm at Mt Macedon today as well. Made it to 11.3° . That's our warmest day since mid may.
Still 10° at midnight. Unbelievable.

The wattles have been flowering now for 3 weeks and other plants are saying Spring is here . Sadly another dud Winter. :( What plants are you seeing in flower that makes you think that sprin...

3.8c overnight here. No frost of course but it's still good to be closer to normal. Just a smidgeon of rain here yesterday, which wasn't quite enough to register in the gauge. It's turning into a dry month, and very El Nino-like, although we're not quite in an El Nino yet. Wow, it was -2° with a hu...

Re: Long mid winter mild spell under westerly flow: July 12-

Wow absolutely feral morning. I took this pic this morning of Mt Macedon with the huge cap cloud hovering. It doesn't look like it but I could barely stay upright against the howling north wind. Big difference between here at work 6° and home which has just dropped to 0.9° up there in that cloud mas...
