Yep, still holding this morning too. Looks like the potential for some form of low to develop this time next week? We’ve actually managed a light shower here today but hardly enough to register. Shaping up to be a great Easter long weekend for those camping. Still not seeing any true autumn break on...

I very much seeing strong parallels with March 2016 - both in terms of sea-surface temperatures and a transition from El-Nino to LaNina. We had a spectacular heatwave in early March that year (3x 39c days in a row, and 8 days in a row over 35c), before things cooled off. It also feels a bit similar...

I’m curious about these predictions of a shift back to wetter weather in March. Typically it’s one of our driest months - we often end up with an Indian summer with an extended run of warm mild weather into April. It feels like we’re on a similar trajectory again this year... Elders long range weath...

Returned from 10 nights down at Phillip Island to find 15.5mm here, most of it presumably from Wednesday’s rain and Thursday’s follow up showers. The Jan total keeps ticking over. Perfect beach weather for the first week with mostly light easterly winds and plenty of sun. The change to westerly flow...

Another 18.5mm here today. Constantly changing from drizzle/light rain/heavy rain all day before clearing at dinner time. 74mm for the thread. The next 7 days looks relatively sedate for Vic, although the troughy synoptic pattern continues with the highs stubbornly remaining to the south of the cont...

Up to 55.5mm here, incredible result and way beyond what a lot of the models had for progged for us. Woke up to a long torrential downpour at 2.30, but must have slept through the rest of it. Looks like the area to our west through to Pakenham copped more, saw a few VicEmergency incidents presumably...

18mm since 2pm here, 15mm of it fell in the first two hours. Has backed off to mainly light rain since. Surprised that we’ve scored so well, was expecting to get heavily rainshadowed today. Must be a testament to the sheer amount of moisture over Vic atm. Most models have us pegged for another inch ...

Been away for a week down at Inverloch. Just tipped out 32mm for that period, including 10mm from a storm earlier this arvo. Muggy as out there now.
Looks like we missed most of the nasty stuff, everything very green here from the Christmas Day rain.

Narrowly missed a line of storms that rolled in from the north east this arvo. Dumped a quick 20-30mm on Drouin and caused a few incidents on the VicEmergency app. Here’s a few pics of the front and back side of the storms. Very dynamic skies and an unusual trajectory for storms to take for this area.

22mm here since Sunday night. Happy with that at this time of year. We managed to get a few dry hours in yesterday, but when it did rain it was dense! No storms. Have woken up to thunder this morning. The slow moving storm complex that dumped 28mm on Sale in half an hour is now passing to our south....

I don’t think I can remember a December dominated by so many trough’s and easterly weather events. Christmas Day synoptics look like making Gippsland even soggier (if that’s possible!)
