Becoming hot ahead of a change with possible rain and storms: February 10-14

Not good here in Lara. I’ve lost part of my roof and there is widespread damage. Wind was over 120kms. In addition to the roof, my veggie patch is cactus, tomatoes got destroyed. Seen a few pics of entire sheds blown away and trees over a few homes

Re: Warm week with troughs, showers, storms Nov 7 - 13th

Big totals overnight in already saturated areas result in major issues like this just west of Geelong: https://www.9news.com.au/national/geelong-freight-train-derails-at-inverleigh/e683c473-14c3-4382-8a18-5012f055057f With the paddocks so wet, they will find it hard to get cranes and trucks down her...

Looking nice and dark to my west as I sit here at work.. Will be copping a direct hit in the next hour if it holds course.

Was planning on taking the boat out for a fish but I think I'll pass now

Re: Another rain bearing low: 20th - 23rd Oct

I am hoping the Bureau fix the Avalon rain gauge soon. I live close by and recorded 36mm of rain and these rain gradients weren’t that intense looking at the radar. There is flooding right around the roads of Avalon airport so there is no way it only received 2mm. Same happened with the last event w...

Re: Vic - potential rain in the east from an inland low 5-8/1/22

Just heard my first distant rumble from the west of us.

I took this photo whilst fishing yesterday of one of the storms that hit Lara around 5pm.. I had a few phone calls from the concerned wife asking whether I was coming back in or not..

EC and GFS runs look big for west central coming up for the next 9 days. See what happens when we move closer but this will be another thread.

Re: Complex low to bring Rain, Storms Snow Oct 13th to 17th

I was out fishing in the boat and watched the storm form over Werribee heading straight for us off Avalon. Cracking CGs and when they got a bit close for comfort made the run back to the ramp. Thought I had 10 minutes before it hit, got to the ramp and within 5 minutes it started pouring. 5km west i...

Beautiful morning here in Lara working from home and looking out the window as the gutters flow hard. We're up to 13mm so very happy the lawns and veggie garden will enjoy the drink.

44mm in Lara since dinner time which is great. Driving to Melbourne this morning I noticed paddocks full of water around Little River so not doubt they've had 50-60mm.

Very happy with the 43mm in Lara from 8pm last night till now. Our friends up between Anakie and Ballan tipped out 85mm at lunchtime today, they needed this bigtime, and given the next two weeks the sun should be out, should set them up well for the year. Bloody awesome.

Cracked the old inch here in Lara. Had two short lived downpours overnight that delivered the extra 10mm. Better than expected so I’m happy.

Cracked 100mm for the month in Lara. We've had 23mm here since 5:30pm. It's very wet around as the ground is saturated. A lot more rain further south in Geelong. This is the wettest April I can recall, wetter then 2001.

Been torential here since around 8:30 and in that time we've had just under 40mm and it's still heavy. Just under 50mm since 9am. I'd say Ocean Grove and some areas on the Bellarine will be sitting well above us.
