Tropical Low 06U has left the Australian basin again, but now with unfavourable conditions to return. FMS (Fiji Meteorology Service) continues to monitor this low in the South Pacific basin as Tropical Depression 05F.

On the 25th, Cyclone Anggrek moved into the SWIO (South-West Indian Ocean) basin, and was no longer tracked by BoM. It further intesified into a Intense Tropical Cyclone (Cat 4) in this basin.

After landfall, Kirrily quickly de-intesified into a Remnant Low. It is now around the North Qld area. To show how quickly it dissipated, I have a few images below. This system has now been named Kirrily and has been upgraded to L3 (aka Severe Tropical Cyclone)

Severe Tropical Cyclone Kirrily (05U) is likely to hit at Townsville later this evening (AEST).

We're at Cat 3!!!! 80kn sustained and 110kn gusts as reported by BoM. And JTWC reports 80kn, 100kn. This will be categorised as a 'Tropical Cyclone' intensity in the South-West Indian Ocean basin.
