Yesterday was sitting at an average maximum of 31.6 at the viewbank site so far this month. 25.4 is the usual.

Finally some rain. Until yesterday at the Epping melb water site, since the 21st of Feb only 0.4mm of rain across 2 days. And 10.4 mm since the 14th of February.

I've been wondering.. how often were temperatures checked when stations were manned, and during early automation of stations?

Since daily maximums can be recorded in between the 10 minute updates from stations and heat can spike for a minute or so, is more recent data in ...

I looked out my west facing window overnight and I think most of the lightning was to the south of epping or more towards bundora. We got 6mm

There must be a lot of potential for heavy rain in the tropics at the moment in some spots, i wonder if its related? Bintulu in Malaysian Borneo got 800mm in 48 hours recently, a site in the city has that much in 24 hours but I'm doubting its accuracy

36.2 in viewbank and 27.6 at the melbourne site. Massive difference

The viewbank site recorded a maximum of 40.8 when you look at the source which is recorded every 10 minutes the maximum is 40.3

Any reason behind this? Its not the first time I've seen it.

Viewbank was almost 10 degrees higher than the melbourne site earlier.
