VICTORIA SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK
The Severe Weather Outlook is a brief overview of the next several days for potentially severe weather, including but not limited to, flash flooding, damaging or destructive winds, thunderstorms, abnormally high tides and severe fire weather. These charts are hand drawn and original.
SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK (for period THU to WED)
Issued at 8:30pm Monday 11th January 2016, valid until midnight Monday 18th January 2016
A cold front will approach Victoria on Wednesday, resulting in a very hot day across the state. At this stage winds do not appear likely they will reach "severe" speed, however it will be monitored as we move closer. EXTREME fire danger is expected across a number of districts on Wednesday, and any total fire bans issued by the CFA will be noted the night before. Thursday will introduce much cooler conditions with fresh to locally strong southwesterly winds. THere is the potential speeds will gust above 60 km/h in some locations, and these areas have been marked below on the map. The remaining period will be severe weather free.
