Weather Station

Post by Kris »

Hi guys, quick one for you... or maybe not so quick.. I have recently purchased the WS-2308 La Crosse PRO and was wondering if any one currently uses one and has a live page that updates on the net? I already have a web site so that is no dramas, what I am asking is does anyone also run one (live on the web) and if so what software do you use.

Cheers

Kris

Hi Kris,

I run Weather Display http://www.weather-display.com/ software against an older WS-2300 to generate the live site Berwick Weather Station http://www.berwickweather.info/.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Hi Mutley, thanks for the heads up. Now I have the software installed, done the syncro and I suppose now my question is how do I get it up on the web? FTP/TCP/ISP it's all foreign to me. I have a domain (website) that I run for my business, is it easier for me to run it off the as a separate page? If so, how do I script it in or is that automatic... sorry, lots of noob questions, but that site isn't too helpful. lol

Cheers

Hi Kris,

I would consider running the web site off a page seperate to your business. In time as you get more confortmable with the technology you may be able display weather information on your business page(s).

Weather Display may apear complex however with some time and patience you can create professional looking webs sites (not claiming mine is at all). Additionally, there are a number of templates to get you started. Try the following: http://www.carterlake.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or http://www.tnetweather.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The weather display software can be configure to upload the data directly to your hosting provider however I prefer a little more control by using and FTP program.

Cheers
