Quite cold and still but fog should cap temp drop after midnight
All weather discussion will be happening in GW and in other states with further heavy rain for coastal NSW.

Rain woke me up here at midnight. Was very loud, enough to get me up to suss out the radar. Hmm rain beating down, nothing on radar but lightning strikes scattered off-shore on the gippsland tracker. Thought about getting the camera setup but nothing visible to the eye so nodded off to the late night movie.

Jobes, you need to get yourself a rain gauge mate.

We topped out at 20.0000mm for the system. 15.5mm from the system less than a week before this one so quite happy (although not enough rain to run-off in this local area).
Heard the forecaster at Melb BOM talking up another ECL this weekend and potential effects on E Vic (but focused on NSW coast). Looked at the models and can see the progs for a classic ECL to form in an Easterly dip about the N NSW coast but cant see it having any significant influence on Vic - even for Mallocoota.
Can anyone see what I'm missing???

Most likely this event will focus from Sydney northwards. Should be widespread 100-200mm falls with the potential for spot falls of 300mm.
For VIC likely to be mainly dry with a weak front producing scattered light showers Saturday and Sunday morning.
Change developing a week from today as the westerly restablishes.

GFS is showing a particulary strong front for next Wednesday with 850hpa temps down to -2C above Melbourne, now the waiting game to see if the models stay that way for the next week!

Yeah Rhys looking promising. Chatting about that in general weather presently in the rain thread. Could be the start of something significant for us locally.
Gippsland could get 10-20mm of rain with he SE shift later this week.

Cool fine 16.7C here, agree with Karl, mid next week looking like a gutsy change. Time the new thread was started eh?
