Be pretty nervous about fires in NSW and perhaps northern Vic with really gusty westerlies and pretty warm temps up there. So much fuel and very very dry now.
Our Feb ended up just below average temp wise. I'm a bit nervous with these Westerlies coming up, particularly in grassland areas, but 5-10mm on Sunday night should dampen things a bit.

Beyond next week, GFS has a horrific March heatwave (similar to March 2008) on the horizon. I hope that fades away out of the picture.

Some really nice Cu and mamatus around. Great shots. Am up in Melbourne for the weekend and went down the peninsula where it was quite muggy. Tis a lot drier than back in early January.

New thread time for the showery westerlies next week. It does look like a false start to autumn :?

Nice photo's Australis.

We finally got some "weather" here last night with a slow moving storm, lots of lightning and 3.5mm rain, there would be decent totals in spots around Nth Gippsland. Nice after a prolonged dry spell.

February was a markedly cool one here, the third in row, with just a pair of two day 34-36C temps.

I think the later 2/3'rds of March will be wet in Gippsland going by the anomalously warm oceans around Vic/NSW at present.
