Looks like I'm out of the equation here in the outer south east, going by the models. Not surprising however

as i keep saying, so close yet so far!
had quite heavy showers earlier but the thunderstorms seem to be evading this area today even though conditions were supposed to be good for it.
some clearance to the north but i hold little hope these days, why is it all firing on the other side of the bay, i seek to understand whats different over there to the eastern suburbs today?

Was never a chance today to the east. There is a slight one, but doubt it

Exactly what everyone has been telling you. No one can predict storms.

No, thats what i have been telling everyone, and pointing out how much we rely on forecasts that rarely are correct, nevertheless people still want to believe in it and apparently I am supposed to, which is why i question it all the time, which doesnt always go down well

But when the bureau predicts a chance of a storm for the metro area, they frequently do eventuate. Now whether it's in Boronia, Cranbourne or Melton, that's anyone's guess.

Very big storm, flooding rain, whiteout at one point and small hail.
Very bomb like thunder at times and very crisp bolts from the blue, especially after the main storm passed.
Lightning struck somewhere very close, people were still running around on the nearby oval and seemingly didn't care?

Some very brief small hail, pouring rain and a couple of VERY close flash-bangs through Croydon about 45 mins ago. A couple of flooded roads around Ringwood East. Steady rain here at home. Looks like Geelong copped a nice storm.
