House has been a bomb site with renovations (plus no weather here for two to three weeks). Summer finished right on average with a wet December, average January and dry February balancing out. Hottest day 32C
Finally, kitchen, two bedrooms and floors done (polished concrete). Bathroom and double glazing all that’s left to do
That starts in a few weeks,
Crazy humid down here. We are on the edge of the upslide and being on the flats not benefitting from the topographical bump but still raining steadily. DP has been hovering in the 15-20C range last three days, and so far about 15mm last two days. Cloud base yesterday was at about 40m above sea level. Expect this will be our autumn break now given the mild coastal climate here.
This trough and low is messy and not going anywhere. Even when it clears late in the weekend the system doesn’t really flush out the moist air.
Records to our north are crazy. To get 500-1000mm on the flats is just unprecedented. Unfortunately the network in NSW missed possibly the best of it the Dunoon backed by a range which rises 800m. Would think somewhere on that range would have gone over 1000mm in 24 hours, given just shy of 700mm at ~200m elevation. Our climate has always swung, but the bounce from record heat, dry and fires to record floods is being turbocharged, as was predicted decades back
A photo from yesterday morning just before the rain set in.
