This whole event has been yet another fizzer for my area here in the desert. Just 5mm early Thursday morning and not a drop since.
Extremely frustrating.
Yeah, dud for the city and western plains. Progs picked this area as likely to miss out, and sadly that’s what has happened. Week ahead looks better, particularly if the latest EC sticks.
Been a foggy rainy day here today. Just passed 10mm for the past 24 hours, and still coming down nicely. Event about 30mm, so handy coming after the 20mm we had last week. Starting to feel soggy up here like it should be (though still about 150mm behind average YTD).
About 3mm more overnight. Finished on ~35mm, with local falls touching 40mm. Very welcome. Now looking for follow-up this week. City finally got into the stream with a couple of mms.
Event total of 39.5mm here. The best fall since mid december. It is remarkable how quickly some of the brown patches in my lawns have filled in to green again.
We travelled out to Beaufort/Skipton yesterday and there isnt anything green out there, not yet anyway.
Hope we all get some follow up this week coming.

That’s great. So overdue for your area. How did the garden and forest hold up? Water in the creek yet?
Showers yesterday and overnight here, with a further 0.4mm. Just dribbles, but makes it feel wintery (as it should be for May here). Max here on Saturday of 9.7 and 10.3C yesterday
The creek stopped visibly running but still had water. Quite a lot of dead or browned off eucs around here, our volcanic soil doesnt hold moisture for long, it needs regular top ups. I hate to think what it would have been like without the wet December.
