Way too much heat up North & looks to be building up again. It looks as though it's heading this way, thoughts anyone?

Yep, lots of heat (and records). The latest are in the NT where both Curtin Springs and Yulara Airport , with 45.0 and 44.8 deg C have broken the NT March record this week. Those numbers are close to 50C sea level equivalent so would be hot for mid summer, but are ridiculous for well into autumn. EC on the 12Z run got very warm - potentially into the mid to high 30s towards the end of the run. Hoping that doesn't happen :(

Min of 8C this morning. All up just shy of 5mm for the thread. Perhaps a slight chance for a shower on Thursday, but otherwise that looks like about it  Hard to believe we’ve had so many fronts and troughs and yet so little rain. Yesterday’s front was quite strong for the time of year but so moisture starved.

Week coming looks warm to hot and dry. More like summer than mid to late March. Not much wind, thankfully, given there are so many big fire burning still :(

Down to 6.8 degrees this morning down. Lucky to be in the clear patch as all to my west and north was covered in cloud. Most other areas only got down to 11 or 12 thanks to the cloud.

The next 2 or 3 weeks will be typical late-March / early-April boredom. Happens almost every year. Days on end where it is sunny and mild to warm, broken up by one or two days below 20. Chilly-ish nights too.

Nothing out of the ordinary, unless that heat from the north somehow makes it down here.

6.8C at my place this morning and still only 10.7C now. Colder than yesterday, the max was 11.8C yesterday.

38 forecast for Mildura next Wednesday. I wonder what the latest autumn 40 degree max for Victoria is?

Wouldn't be surprised if a sneaky 40 has struck in April somewhere along the Murray. Pushing it though

Seems like the whole country's coast is going to get something except here this week. Boring :|

Down to 6.9c here this morning and a top of 16.5c. Definitely autumn-like, though a stretch of very warm temperatures are forecast for the week ahead. Shame the dry goes on. Surely a proper rainy day will come sometime soon?

It looks pretty abnormal to me. Melbourne is currently running more than 2C above average for March, more typical of an above average January than March. OZ is currently running about 3C above average. As for rainfall, we are getting mighty close to the driest 12 months for OZ for April to March. I do fear we are collectively forgetting what normal is :o

EC for the next week is about 5C above average here and has zilch rain. Keep hoping to see something change in the forecasts :?

Maybe time for a new thread. Looks like we will have a trough for the next ten days, but most of Vic will (probably) miss out. Could sneak some heavy falls into east Gippsland, and suspect some showery stuff will make it into South Gippsland, the Otways and perhaps the northeast on one or more days.

Coast NSW willl see a month or two of rain in the next week. I want that ;)
