VIC - Sequence of fronts in swly stream: May 15-25 2018

0.6mm more in the gauge from mizzle yesterday. That looks like it for the sequence. Since the swly sequence started two weeks ago we’ve had about 120mm. Makes our awful MTD rather less awful.

Next system showing up for next week (first part slamming Perth atm). Quite a difference across the models with CMC and GFS showing moderate to heavy falls. EC rather less keen.

Looks like quite a cold night on the way. Currently 5.7c here with a clear sky. Could be very cold in the morning unless fog rolls in, which is also possible.

Sunny here for the first time in ages Cool night for us here, but poking above the inversion we won’t get to cold.

Cracking system though WA, though ahead of it simply astonishing heat and fires. Albany yesterday broke its late season heat record by 1.5C with a max of 28C. Caps of warmth which has just been astonishing (on the opposite side of this big high).
