BOM Radar Concerntration of sites in WA

Its just dawned on me that the s/w corner of WA has the best radar coverage of any part of Downunda.

Any reasons as to why? Pretty much wheat and wine there, the odd RAAF base, nothing but scrub mostly.

Spending the money they saved on the Laverton upgrade perhaps.
