Sky look very unstable but no rain on radar
I have a feeling something MAY develop
Need to watch the radar as it's trying to show something

Hopefully there's more to the change than this? No rain and not much wind.

Will be watering again this evening at this rate :x

Looks like another dud. That's a month worth of them. Hoping my complaints might make it rain

Currently we are on track for our driest Feb in more than twenty years in FC unless we scrape ~7mm in the next couple of days. Hard to believe it is event worse than 2009 (though that had an awful January as well). Plants really struggling now, and expect to see them start dying in the coming weeks if it doesn't rain significantly.

There's band of drizzly stuff moving up from the west and looks like the northeast will do ok from the storms, but again the event falls way short of what all the models were showing a few days ago :(

Low cloud moving in now. Typical southwesterly setup. Now waiting for possible drizzle overnight

Yep, yet another pathetic useless dud of a front/system, whatever you want to call it. :x

More watering tonight, hate to see what my water bill will look like in a few weeks time. :sccary:

A fascinatingly bad fail by all models; rare that they're so wrong only hours out. Barely a drop here - worth putting up the Water & Land chart issued at 6.28am today for posterity:

Won't be that much higher. Water prices are pretty cheap. It's the service fees that are high. I can guarantee about 20 to 30% of the price is actual water use.

So water away

had some refreshing 'drizzle' playing cricket (we won easily), sad we never got the rain, but that is computers and models!

Just over 2mm. Average is 70mm. Made worse by a below average Jan and really warm temps.

It truly has been a remarkably boring, dry, stable month for Central areas. Seems like it will never end, I just hope as Autumn approaches the temperature differentials come into play a bit more and we finally get a worthwhile system come through.

May as well talk about dry periods seeing as there is no rain
Just goes to show how much of a delicate balance our climate is especially in Australia
No doubt we are a country of drought and flooding rains but we all need to be very mindful of water useage
Ie "Capetown"
I feel that we have become very complacent for some time and with Melbourne's population expect double by the year 2030 I hope we have strategies in place

Yeah I have noticed a lot of plants at my place have died. The soil is extremly dry. I have never seen it this bad before! Even the deciduous trees are loosing their leaves already.

0.6mm of mizzle overnight. Makes about 3mm for the week. Not seeing any good chances for rain in the next ten days. Series of troughs but moisture is missing. Maybe the odd shower Wednesday and again on Sunday. Thankfully no particularly hot weather. State is now dry everywhere so any heat with wind will be a big concern for firies :(
