No hail here so far with round 1 but heavy rain with round 2 starting now. Constant thunder and flashes. Beautiful night.

Extensive mammatus on the underside of the anvil after the storm moved through. Looks beautiful :)

Torrential here now. Gutters all overflowing. Massive flangs. Best storms I've seen here in years. Short lived but geez they are packing it all.

EDIT> 30mm here now :o raining 150mm/hr on my AWS.

Just the one storm here this evening, but a big one. Lightning took out the power for 30 seconds followed by torrential rain. Gutters were overflowing. Probably only lasted about 15 minutes, but gave 10.3 mm. It's heading into Melbourne now.

What a show!

Multiple lightning strikes per second.

Heavy rain. Have some good pics from my parent's place in Cranbourne East.

La Nina at work again

Going to miss the brunt of this final round, but a pretty interesting afternoon/evening indeed!

38mm here. Looks to be easing now. Peak rainrate of 275mm/hr. Very happy.

Hard to believe at 5:00pm that it looked like it could be a dud. I've never seen a storm before develop near Mildura and end up in Melbourne in only a couple of hours.

Annoying looks like our local AWS has a blockage or been affected by lightning. It's missed the last 20mm of rain.

They really annoys me. About 70% of this year's supposed direct hits have broken up only a kilometre from here.

I must have a bad omen on me.
We must both share the same bad omen stevco. Going through the exact same thing here in Melbourne's most boring non-eventful weather destination.
Once AGAIN I just looked out my window and watched ANOTHER cell skimped past us and slide away towards the south east.

I also noticed the same thing has happened down at my other property in Cowes. Can't bloody win! :cussing:

Absolutely poured here in Elwood for a solid 15 minutes. Preceding that was the most lightning-active shelf cloud I've ever seen, at least one flash per second with non-stop thunder. If this had happened an hour later it would have been one hell of a show!

Very unusual... I was at Richmond station on my way home from work when the "change" came through it felt very settled. I wasn't holding much hope for a shower, let alone a storm of the caliber that just rolled through here.

Keep delivering La Niña!

20 cent size hail here - really loud on the roof, glad the cars are under cover, lot of close thunder. Up to 21mm now so no dry change after all! Been a while since we got a direct hit from a black core.

Hello all, long time, no post.

We've been smashed once again in Lysterfield though not as bad as on previous occasions. Two new cars pelted with 5cm hail (edit: just remeasured make that 4.5cm) which we've stored in the freezer for prosperity. Some of the hail was jagged, some almost perfectly round and heavy - very solid. The tin roof has copped a hammering in one part of the house, seem to have a couple of broken tiles too but no windows this time thank goodness. Not sure of other damage as haven't been out to check as yet.

Kelletts Rd is slightly flooded in places, the roadside gutters (unpaved) have filled and are rushing down to the retarding basin.

So, a couple of insurance claims and excesses to pay before Christmas, not the best time of year to be finding spare cash.

Some interesting microburst damage around the place. Several places have been hit hard with lots of trees down in narrow paths.

One of them was just near Bendigo Airport which registered a 111 km/h gust.
