Was at the top of Mt D next to the transmission towers about 5 minutes ago. Nothing but rain.
Sleet here. Few flakes, but not a lot. Tried to catch some on video but missed. 2.6C here so right on the edge for snow, which I find is around 2C.

Next shower inbound looks chunkier.

Very light drizzle and 3c, just shows you once against 100m can be all the difference, and not necessarily 100m in elevation, it could be snowing 100m up the road and raining 100m down the road, the difference is very marginal.

Pics would be great Macedonian. Heavy shower just passed here in Elwood. Just west of the city would have really copped that. Temp 8c.

Loving the snowcams this morning. Reports from Buller saying lightest, driest pow this year and possibly for a few years.

Had 4.9mm here today. Some sleet early this morning with a temp of 3c, and a hail shower late morning. Current temp is 5.5c but only slowly falling, as there is still a bit of cloud around.

No rain today, but 21mm since Tuesday. Perhaps another 5-10mm on Monday.

Rainfall this month has exceeded the average already :)

Light frost this morning and expecting a severe frost tomorrow. Currently 5c.

Rogue shower currently pushing through here on the island. Not expecting things to be as cold as the suburbs in the morning. No frost here.

5.6C for our max yesterday. Second in a row. Picked up 2.8mm more so finished on 30mm. Bit disappointing in the end here. Should have seen 50mm plus, but that big rain event spit around us then the swly flow managed to miss us for most of Friday. Funny, sometimes everything delivers other times it misses. MTD 80mm (average is 133mm). Same story around Vic. Awesome system in spots, and probably one of the best precip systems for the northeast ranges in the past decade (in August). Bit hit miss in Gippsland and west central.

Good frost out there this morning with a min of 2.3C. Car iced over.

Not long before the next system, but this one is dying as the cold air is ahead of the low as it approaches which means it's going to fade quick once it get over Vic. Could see some low level snow as it moves in over western Vic with cold air trapped at the surface.

Managed to get one photo of some flakes. They we're sparse and not that impressive, but definitely flakes. Also saw some really nice snow grains and pellets.

Btw did the what if it was 1C colder yesterday. I reckon we would have seen 2-4cm of snow. Winter SSTs are now about 1C warmer than they we're before 1970. That makes the difference between a few flakes and settling snow.

Woke up to the sound of another shower pushing through this morning. No idea what the total is for the system down here, will check later.

Sun coming out now & radar clear so I'd say that's about it.

Total rain for the thread here was 25.2mm. MTD = 72.4mm, so a much better month compared to June and July, which we very dry in this area. Got down to 1.5c overnight and a light frost this morning.

Glorious late winter day up here with calm winds and sunshine. Feels warm out there in the sun, but in the shade it's maxed out at a chilly 6.8C. Thinking another cold one tonight, ahead of a cloudy windy day tomorrow. Could get some quite low Max's out west depending on the rain.
