July record high for Mildura with 27.1C. Equals the Vic state July record set back in 1975. Looks like cloud came in and capped the rise. Nasty fire weather conditions up there with a couple of small "bushfires". RH is be down to around 10% with squally winds :?

Change showing up on our west coast now with rain spreading east. GFS is a bit keener on the latest run with local 10mm plus falls. Fingers crossed.

Pleasant day here in the sun out of the wind, but pretty feral in the wind. Max of 12C, but thinking it could go a degree or two higher ahead of the front with warmer air moving in.

Btw GFS and EC starting to bring the low for later in the week further south. Could be a decent rain producer. Progs been a bit jumpy, so waiting to see if they settle or if this is just another wiggle.

Wind has dropped off here too. Still gusty, but not anywhere near as wild as it was earlier today. Had a peak gust of 56km/h, so not as bad as other parts. Currently 12.1c, with a maximum today of 14.0c. I am expecting rain to be shredded across the ranges again today, so probably won't be much in it for us, but we'll see. Crazy weather for July around the state though - worrying warm and dry.

Bad damage in the inner northwest here. Brick walls down, front fences down, trees on powerlines and branches covering roads. Wasn't this much damage in the wind event last year. Wind has died down a lot and peaked around midday.
Go the bombersss!

Geez that was a fizzed. 0.2mm here with the rainband shredded. Doesn't look like much today, and then our bad luck could well continue through the week with a low moving up on the southwest fading, another low forming near the ACT mostly missing us, and then a big inland low mainly passing to our north. Could be a bumper week if it all moved a few hundred kms. Guess left hoping the models are all wrong (or more precisely GFS which is the outlier is right  ).

Starting to really need a big rain event soon. Three well below average months in a row now :?

GFS certainly has the goods for the coming week. EC looks better this morning too. With 18mm last week and possibly more than that in the next 7 days, we're not doing too badly compared to most.

The Mallee desperately needs rain atm.

1mm here today from a shower late morning. Otherwise, a mild sunny one. Some really nice Cb and towering Cu to our northeast over the Yarra Valley, but headed away. Looks like some local heavy falls under the band.

Some exceptional temperatures in NSW with lots of mid to high 20s. Record in Sydney and lots of others spots in central parts. Incredible Mount Boyce at 1100m reached 17C :o

Low moving up on our western border for tomorrow but will die as another one forms over southern NSW. Destined to be a week of frustration rainwise :x

Got a little windy Saturday late afternoon and noticed red dust on car and puddles over night,
But day temperature and lack of wind left us to stripping off walking around the beaches with extremely hot feet, wasnt prepared for the sunshine and warmth.

Nothing more overnight :x Month ends on (about) 90mm; will add up tonight. Third dry month in a row for us - while 90mm sounds like plenty it would be around Decile 3 or 4 for us.

Guess we need a new thread for the lows and troughs which will usher in August.

62mm for this July vs 81.4mm average, so we're down a bit too. YTD is 395.5mm vs 414.3mm average, so falling a little behind there.

Finished the month with 47.7mm's of rain (ave is 71.6mm's) so 67% of normal.
It was my driest July since 2010 - 46.6mm's.
After starting the year with 4 months of above average rain the last 3 months
have all been well below Normal. YTD is 409.4mm's now just below the 417.2mm's
we normally have in the first 7 months of the year.

Finished the month here with 26mm - well below average but quite a bit better than June, which was 11.7mm. Certainly has been a ver dry winter. Average maximum was 12.1c, which is a couple of degrees above average, and average minimum was 4.1c.
