Another few mm just before to take me up to 19mm for the thread. For tomorrow, Access R has taken the convergence zone associated with the trough further north towards the Murray.....but who knows really. It's a hard system to pick this one. Happy with 19mm to start with though.

Well we've been in a convergence zone this evening. 12mm so far which means 23mm since yesterday morning. Way beyond my expectations which is good :)

Great to see central areas north of the Divide getting some rain at last!

We did okay from the first lot with 10.5mm, but only a couple of mm since.

Heavy shower this morning with a quick couple of mms. Slowly edging up,with 13mm for the thread. Showery today, and they are training so some spots are getting bumper falls and others left high and dry :o

Awesome seeing the falls in northcentral to the northeast. Few spots well on the way to their monthly average which is good to see after the shocker June.

Foggy and mild here ATM. Feels more like spring than the coldest week of the year. Temps starting to cool in the uppers so finally snowing in the alps, and edging down the slopes.

Follow-up for the weekend looking a bit better on the model updates.

The last fews days have been rather mild and Mt Buller has just had buckets of rain, not snow so far. Not unusual in a Westerly stream where heat is picked up off the relatively warm waters of the Bight.

That looks like changing with colder air moving in tonight. Then it's back to the frosts with Anti-cyclonic domination next week. EC is suggesting a cold front with rain around 14th July. We might even end up with average or above average rain for July.

A few spits but that was it here today. Frustrating as we really need a big month or two to wet things up. This systems been pretty frustrating for our area.

Odd shower the next couple of days becoming more numerous on the weekend. Uppers are finally cooling so snow down to about 1500m now dropping further as we head towards the weekend.

The chill is back tonight. Already down to 3 degC and a frost expected in the morning.

Flew to NZ yesterday and will be in Auckland for the next few weeks. certainly wet over here. My feel for the Vic weather will be somewhat diminished but I'm still looking at the maps and obs :)

Kyneton got down to -2 during the night, another 4mm yesterday gives 23mm for the thread.

This systems starting to get frustrating. We've had a low all week and troughs continue til about Tuesday but most of Vic is still to scrape 15mm. We aren't even keeping up with pro rata here :x It's been basically a system for the northern slopes and upper Yarra (good for them, of course).

Today looks pretty sparse for rain. The odd shower about, but thinking we will probably be dry here.

Chilly outside. Dipped to 3.7C ATM so definitely a wintery feel.

-1 degC here this morning. Very icey and the birdbath is well and truly frozen. It'll be interesting to see if we pick up more rain tonight/tomorrow.

It will be an interesting winter I reckon. I pray for heaps of rain but I unfortunately don't see much the way the weather is going atm. We've had more sunny days than rain days this winter so far. And when the clouds are there it teases you.

Crap.

That's the only way I can describe that/this system (down in the outer SE anyway).

I have washing on the line atm and it's already dry! The ground probably isn't any different.

Looking at the synoptics, more high pressure systems are on the way, which means July may be a repeat of last month. Not good!

Radar certainly looks unstable. Both GFS and EC are keen for plenty of showers overnight, but not a lot in it (so thinking hit miss). This systems got good uppers but surface feature is less impressive.

Certainly a few sparks across Victoria overnight with that trough. Scored another 7mm for Kyneton which brings the total to 30mm for the thread. Well above expectations....

On the other side of the Tasman here in Auckland, a rain gauge near where I am has had 86mm since I arrived. Very stormy yesterday, here is a bolt that hit the tower last night

Big fat zero overnight. 13mm for the week. Our average this time of year is 26mm/week so not even keeping pace with prorata.

Had a brief shower here overnight which was enough to make the roads slightly damp this morning.
Other than that, the long drawn out weather boredom continues.....
