About 6-8mm recorded in the boredom zone over the weekend with no hail or thunder.

Fantastic falls at the "other" home down on the Island, 20-25mm. :D

Quite a chilly start to the day for the ride into to work, took at least an hour for the hands to warm up. Time for some new cycling gloves me thinks.
Attention now turns to tomorrow.
Caroline Springs, Melbourne's meteorological boredom zone.

I rechecked our gauge this morning. We copped quite a downpour yesterday afternoon (8mm). 14mm for the event, so rather stoked.

17.2mm for me.

Very happy.

Interesting times Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning at least coming up. Temps bottoming out below zero in the majority of the state.

Should make for nice days. I reckon maximums will struggle as well

Max of just 7.9C at our place today after a min of 2.7C. That's proper winter weather for us :D Managed to tip over another 0.2mm in the gauge.

Tomorrow may well deliver us a sub-7C max with EC suggesting 7C for Ferny Creek and the official forecast for "Mt Dandenong" 8C. Thinking perhaps 10mm of rain give or take. Could just about see some sleet mix in during the arvo in heavier showers with 850T dipping to near -3C.

EC and GFS now giving some drizzle into southern Vic on Wednesday morning which will take the edge of temperatures for us. Thinking then that Thur/Fri/Sat will be classic June days with cold starts and temperatures struggling to rise much under a feeble sun.

BTW friend in the Yarra Valley near Heasville scored 32mm for the weekend. Goes to show that sometime the gauge network doesn't always show the full range of outcomes. Multiple hail showers during Sunday arvo gave him nearly 15mm :o

That front is certainly moving up quickly. Around 10c here today but tomorrow will be a cold one. Doesn’t look like much moisture will get over the range, so 5mm would be a good outcome. That high moving in is a decent size with maybe 1040 hPa sitting over us by Friday.

Still early days but models are getting a touch excited for next week (June 6th to 10th). EC 00z has produced a Bass strait cold core cat 1 cyclone with a wrap around multi directional attack over 3 days involving bands of rain, gale force winds, alpine blizzards and snow down to 500m. GFS is showing it as a deep complex cut off low with an equatorial fed water slide into Victoria. Other than that, not much else to report :)

Weather station was forecasting 4 degrees for Thursday, Friday and Saturday but has now gone for 3, 2 and 4 respectively.

That really equates to 1, 0 and 2.

See how we go. Could get below 0.

A quick 3mm this morning with the first part of the front. Second part incoming, then will revert to showers. Progs changed a bit for tomorrow with flow remaining SW'ly ahead of the incoming high which will keep things drizzle in parts of southern Vic and take the edge off what might have otherwise been a very cold morning tomorrow. Inland will be cold...

Another significant system for early next week, but details different across all the models.

I've had 7mm so far with this front helped by the prefrontal showers overnight. Might squeeze another few mm out of it before this afternoon.

6mm from this front brings us to 30mm in 3 days and we're behind several nearby sites which are closing in on 40mm.

No models came close to predicting that amount for west central - every front in the sequence seems wetter than forecast for us :).

Interesting split in the models at the moment. EC and AccessG both going for a follow up wintry blast next Mon/Tues, while GFS and CFS both have high pressure over us with the next low still out west, coming in late next week. Look forward to seeing who's got it right.

Felt quite mild in the afternoon with the sun out, clear skies and light winds when I went for a walk.

Had some brief hail earlier in the day and pouring now in that SSW stream of showers.

Proper winter weather for us in FC with a max of 6.9C. Dipped to just 4.3C at 3pm with a heavy hail shower. Have managed to clock up nearly 8mm for today. Hoping to add to that overnight, though currently the flow is a little too southerly for us.

Obs suggest snow should be falling to about 800m ATM under decent showers. Wonder if this will last til the opening weekend or whether we'll get a rain event to wash all the white stuff away ;)
