Main band stayed west. Have moderate rain now from a new stream coming off the warm bay

88mm at Musk (near Daylesford). Just ticked over to 63mm here.

Countless calls for assistance along the coast and in the path of the torrential rain, notably Ocean grove! Sounds nasty.

Here is the view at 1500m above.... she is an ugly beast. The 2nd core is now deepening in eastern Bass strait off east Gippsland and providing assistance to the convergence zone, almost locking it into place. The east side of the bay is calm but above at 1500m is it chaos. Incredible set up.

Been torential here since around 8:30 and in that time we've had just under 40mm and it's still heavy. Just under 50mm since 9am. I'd say Ocean Grove and some areas on the Bellarine will be sitting well above us.

Getting hammered here in Tarneit. Pity my rain gauge was playing up this evening. If i was to guess I would say getting close to 40mm now based on other PWS. Still coming down, heaviest consistent rain in years.

Same in Bacchus Marsh, it looked like the rain band was going to move east but has seem to have stalled... my backyard has turned into a lake

Goodness me.... the zone is shifting slightly west again. The 2nd developing core must heading north west in Bass strait and forcing the zone to the west

Oh, no! Does that mean I miss out after all? Because it's definitely shifting back west! How weird.

Looks like it is shifting west again, could be in or a wet night.

Honestly, I've never seen a set up like it.....the 2nd core must of just cut off and is heading west

Just spotted a new south easterly attack on the IR sat pic....heading for Melbournes SE burbs through Phillip island in a short while. Can see it appearing on the Melbourne 128 km radar. This new attack is part of the reason the zone is pushing slightly west.

To add to that it appears that on the 264km radar it looks like the new attack may be joining up with the old one.. Or maybe it's late and i'm imagining things?

Incredible situation. Still belting down here - 51mm. I thought the wrap around would have cleared us by now but amazing that it has retrograded west. Really drenching the central highlands.

And another few mm in quick time plus a howling wind. I haven't seen conditions this extreme in quite a while. Seems to be breaking up somewhat on the radar at the moment, though we are still stuck under a steam of heavy rain.

Raining again here. Event total closing in on 50mm. Redesdale over 60mm! One out of the box.

58mm here now, closing in on 60 quite quickly. Had a flash of lightning and thunder earlier.

Can't believe this system has stayed in the west for this long! I hope everyone is ok over there.
