Great pics Rikki. There is so much software out there and a lot of the soft processing, sepia tones. You've done a great job with it. Romantic pic Rik :)

Great night time shots there Rikki! Impressed by the amount of light you've managed to capture. Did you use a tripod for those? Care to post the rest of the image info? (shutter speed, f/stops etc.)? Just wanna see how you went about it and hopefully learn something...

Thanks guys. :)

Judd the exif Data and processing is like so.

For the Bendigo remembers shot it is as follows....I really wanted to grab as much detail on the inside of the shrine where the lights were, as well as keep as much detail on the outside as possible. Because of the extreme difference I had to go with a multiple exposure shot (HDR).
Shot with a Canon 50D
Sigma 10-20mm @ 10mm
3 Shot bracketed exposure (2sec, 4 sec, 10sec)
F8, ISO 160
Tonemapped with Photomatix
Levels, curves, sharpening, and Orton effect filters applied in CS2

As for the Law Courts...There was alot of ambient light around that night from the misty rain falling and the strret lights, so I was able to do it in 1 exposure.
Shot with a Canon 50D
Sigma 10-20mm @ 16mm
10second Exposure
F8, ISO 160
Levels, curves, and sharpening in CS2

Tripod, and alot of patience with wiping the lens and trying to keep the rain drops off of it... really need to take an umbrella with me on these type of shots...
Hope this all helps. :)

That's really nice man, love the sepia tone and perspective.

Thanks for the info on the other two aswell, thought their may have been some HDR work in there somewhere. You get out in the middle of the night for those? Doesn't look like there's too many people around.

Thanks Judd.

These are actually just taken around 9:30pm on a friday night believe it or not. Because it was pretty chilly and really misty rain and wet, there was hardly anyone around. I was actually wanting someone to be walking down the pavement in that last shot. Someone in a large trenchcoat walking towards me would have just made that shot I think. :)

OK, only a small quick report for now, as I need my beauty sleep.
After a day of rain and intense cold I decided to head NW around 6:30pm tonight. My target was North of Sebastion to a small town called Mitiamo. However I was stopped 5km North or Sebastion by raging torrents of water gushing across the road from todays rain. I was not prepared to drive through these as 1: Being night time I could not get an idea of Depth, and 2: Even with my high beams on I could not see the other side of this new 'river'.

I couldnt Help noticing that it was actually warmer at 8:30pm than it was all day... at least it certainly felt it. In saying that, it was still the blooming most cold chase i've been on. Haha

As it turned out I had already gone to far north as it was. So I backtracked 5km to a nice flat spot and waited it out. Was mostly CC and Anvil lightning for a good 15-20 min very sporadicly. It then fired up very quickly and let a barrage of massive CG's down. These 3 photo's are taken only 5min between 1st and 3rd, and in each photo the lightning bolts were simultaneous.

It then died off to Anvil rain and CC's flashing. However thanks to the moonlight I could see a monster approaching, (the cell that went north of Bendigo) and it had alot of moisture dragging along the ground. Unfortuantly the lightning was few and far between here and was hard to get a bearing on certain 'features' that was heading my way. I did notice that whilst a couple of cc's went flying past there was a very definitive 'funnel' feature. Now I am not going to confirm a Tornado touching down, however I am certain that it was a funnel. I managed to grab only 1 shot of it just before the very nice raincurtain decided to rain on my parade.

Spot the Funnel. :D
Image

After driving through the rain shaft I headed up to Mickey Mouse Hill in Bendigo to grab some shots of the backend of this very nice Cold air Beast. :)
