Its Spring!
You know its Spring when.....
Ha ha! Your local birdies are in for a shock Mick old mate! They clearly haven't read the latest forecast for Friday onwards!

For me it's driving to and from the station in the light. Is almost happening now
Cold never worried me - and FC can be cold any day of the year - but the dark is what really makes for winter IMHO.

Yes it must be close to spring the wattle is out around here,
and I have seen a couple of trees with blossom.
The 64 dollar question at the moment is what weather will it bring.
I am not entirely convinced that LaNina is going to come roaring in.
I hope that statement is totally wrong.
Hooroo Chris

Slip of the tongue there I think Hawker, you mean La Nina I believe?Hawker wrote:I am not entirely convinced that El Nino is going to come roaring in.
Yes it's borderline atm, but showing signs of weakish La Nina developing through spring.
Nevertheless, the very strong -IOD should keep the rain falling for us for some time to come.

Im always perplexed by people calling spring when they see the winter flowering plants coming on.
I mean i sort of understand it but it is a funny thing to say.
A bit like seeing a Hydrangea flowering in mid january and saying ohhh autumn is here!

Not while these BDHs block the lows and fronts that will tap the moist airGeoff wrote:the very strong -IOD should keep the rain falling for us for some time to come.Hawker wrote:I am not entirely convinced that El Nino is going to come roaring in.

I know it's spring because the trees are budding! Some of them anyway.

Probably not the best timing for this comment with tonights weather. But you know it's Spring when August isn't living up to it's cold expectations and have already started to eat ice creams.

When I have to cut the lawn every week. In normal times out lawn doesn't need cutting from start of May to sometime in September.
