One of my friends out in Murpheys Creek have been under torrential rain for the last 90 min. Water leaking in through their roof and into their living room, like a waterfall. She recons easily over 80mm's in the last 90 min. And looking at the video i'd believe it as well.
Stay safe, if you get under a solid line, there are some MASSIVE totals possible.
I live in a world where I dont see to believe, but I believe to see...
Absolutely pouring down her in Castlemaine I think that the radar might be under reading.
Some of the thunder is like a real solid sharp loud crack, made me jump when i went
outside to have a look. Any chance that there might be hail in some of these storms.

We're getting smashed here. Thunder, lightning, torrential rain. The gravel driveway is starting to flood and water teeming off the roof. You would swear it was December.

Weather Situation
Areas of heavy rain and local thunderstorms which may lead to flash flooding are forecast for the Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central, North East and Central forecast districts and parts of the South West and West and South Gippsland forecast districts overnight and during Saturday.
"The SES advises that mountainous areas in the Grampians and Alpine Range, including areas such as the region bound by Bright, Mt Buller, Mt Baw Baw and Combienbar have recently been affected by fires. Rainfall run-off in these fire affected areas may contain debris such as soil, ash, trees and rocks. People in these areas should be alert to the potential for landslide and debris on roads."
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.
The next warning will be issued by 5:00 am EST Saturday.
If it's like this now think about what it will be like when the front moves through tomorrow and the colder air interacts. It may not be thundery tomorrow but I expect more steady heavy rain. Some areas could be pushing 100mm from this by tomorrow evening.
