Sorry to hear you haven't had power since yesterday Geoff. Yes it was frightening up here last night. Glad you're protected from the West. We are open to the West but don't have to worry about big trees falling on us hopefully

We were getting drenched a while ago, for a few minutes. Nothing here now, though. :(

What a storm!!!!!! :woooo:

Just minutes ago it was blowing a gale and bucketing down at the same time - both the rainfall radar and the Doppler images sure look evil

Brings back fresh memories of January 22nd 2009 up in Corryong when my family and I were watching a ferocious squall line (lightning, torrential rain, and 100km/h+ winds) rip through town in the space of 20 minutes, shutting down the power, causing flooding, and uprooting large trees, at the time that was my most violent thunderstorm until March 6 2010 :D

43 users online - marvellous, amazing what a spunky little front can do to get us all excited! :D
Lashing with rain here now and windy too, but nothing compared to this time last night thankfully.

4mm here, so about what i expected from the first band, still a few hours of rain to go though judging by the radar. Not overly windly here though, only coming in bursts with squally rain.
Go the bombersss!

Melbourne dodged a bullet with that first round... Radar shows more to come though.

If that first bit had really hit the inner suburbs we would have flash flooding all over the place.

Moving too quick to see flash flooding but if was Summer in one of those slow moving troughs then we would have another story
