Is s it just me or is this all moving across us too fast to form tornados?
Just walked the dog in the break and saw some great flangs to our SW, plenty here now so pc is going off for a bit.

So is there some sort of tornado outbreak happening in Melbourne atm? It certainly looks like a supercell outbreak at the very least. I don't think we've seen anything like this for a long time, it would be a major event even if it were occurring in Brisbane.

Swirling clouds and tornados?

No wonder the rain was coming from west, then north and then the east. I knew something was weird

ITS THE START OF 2012 WAAAHHHH :bringiton: I tipped this but for the campers at rosebud, lucky buggers.

Just on the edge down here but lightning 10k ahead of whats on radar, been like that for a few days now.

Easy... the media is already calling it a mini tornado. Surely it's not too bad ("Sigh" and rolling eyes at media)

Meso: Only way to make sure you're not being an unsociable weather nut is to a) ensure all Christmas attendees have had at least one beverage, b) pick out most competitive in group, c) make bet with him/her as to where next black core will hit, and d) Enjoy watching the radar with all the other guests, completely guilt free!

Yarra Glen is completely copping it :o Distant lightning & rumbles now with just a few to our west, but mostly enjoying the show to the north, just a little rain.

Extremely tight temperature gradient over the state atm. 34+ North of the divide and about 20 degC along the coast.

Good convection is slowly edging Northward to my West as trough progresses so hoping for some action this evening. Bright sunshine and gusty Northerly here since mid-afternoon.

I can stefan!! strange thing is everytime the storm moves off we go to easterly winds here and stays easterly until the next storm approaches then for 5 mins its swirls all over the place then goes back to easterly or ENE never seen this before!

Currently got 3 jets circling above in our clear air in a holding pattern. Macedon storm looks impressive from here.
