Good to see a new thread. Still five to seven days out, but hopefully something to close out the month.
Before then some beaut days for the unofficial long weekend. Very mild too. Is currently 18C here at 7am, which is something 10C warmer than you would typically expect here for the time of day. The grass was starting to go dormant, but is now growing fast again
White crunchy frost this morning. Another mild day ahead.
Not expecting a lot with this system, but hope to be wrong. Quite dry here now for late April, with the last system a miss. Grass is green but moisture is quite shallow.

Had machine dig deep post holes week ago.
Water pooled in the bottom, clay wet long way down,
Was shocked to see the amount of moisture..
That’s good to hear. For TAS, rain has really focussed on eastern parts since start of summer. We’ve been consistently a touch below average, so been slowly drying out.
Warm one here today. 22.4C. I’d guess that’s about 3C off nudging records for this time of year. Tomorrow might get a degree or so warmer. Peak burn off time down here so quite stunning sunsets and sunrises. This one was at the dawn service at Kingston Beach this morning.
System looks mainly a western Tas and NSW event to me. Will spread around elsewhere, but lighter falls.
Crazy 25C on Hobart today. That getting seriously close to records now. May record is just 25.7C. Just still, sunny and warm. Relatively cooler 21C down here in Howden with a sea breeze. Grass is starting to get crunchy in the drier parts around southeast TAS where the rainfall has been less (Hobart north in particular).
This system looks like a bit of a bust for most. Next week might be better. Main rain this time in SA and NSW/ACT.
1.4mm here yesterday. Was never expecting much from what was ultimately a weak system. Gordon, you might have got the best of that one!
Not expecting too much here today either, but a bit more rain is always welcome anyway. Some showers are showing up on the radar now moving up from the southwest. Everything has greened up quite a lot here since March, which is good to see after quite a dry stretch through summer. Just got to keep those fingers crossed that winter/spring don't end up as dry as the emerging climate drivers would otherwise suggest.

Yes we did well, and another 5mm today, so 13mm for the dates so far, and 88.5mm mtd (not that I think there's much left). A very good April compared to our 56mm average. Think you're still ahead of us though snowfall?
