Cracking little storm here. Briefly heavy rain, lots of small hail and a few booms. Welcome to spring :? 3mm in the gauge so started :)

Hoping for an arvo repeat.

4.4mm so far. Also had a couple of very intense squalls as showers came through. Thankfully no damage.

Fast moving couple of nice storm bands here today. Nearly 5mm.

Couple of inbetween westerly days now ahead of the next front on Friday.

Looks like we will fall below average for the month, still needing about 15mm. Bit of a mixed bag around the state.

IOD is now well negative so hopefully a good spring coming up.

Chilly 3C here this morning. 4.8mm in the gauge. Powers back on which is good (was out for about 12 hours following a tree down in our street). Might see some showers this arvo.

7.5mm here from 3 stormy heavy showers throughout yesterday. Quite a few thunder rolls but no lightning spotted. Some of the squalls were pretty impressive for this area, the front that came through around 11am had some very strong 40kt+ gusts.

We’ve had 67.75mm for the month, which is down on our average but certainly feels wet enough (a lot of rain days >1mm).

Yesterday’s spring like front has got me looking ahead to what’s in store for August…

We were only out for 6 hours this time. Sorry you had to wait 12 hours.

All good. After the days in June a few hours is like a camping trip :D

Another cool windy one today. Should see showers fire up over west and central late, but mainly stay near the ranges. Gusty winds again. Btw went under the radar but Wednesday evening brought another really high sea level. Water over paths in bayside and on the banks of the Yarra. These minor flooding events are becoming remarkably common, happening with fairly benign systems.

Solid trough and front for tomorrow. Could be decent falls on that one, though again peaking near the ranges as the system peaks to our west.

Incredibly warm over northern OZ with three of the four highest Max’s on record in July happening in the last week.

Yet another day of disgusting windy filth. :x

Some of my plants are in need of a decent rain event. This constant hit & miss odd shower garbage is contributing hardly anything.

We picked up 2.75mm from Wednesday evenings squally front, no thunder.

I see that EC is predicting 1.5mm here in the early hours of tomorrow morning, then another 16mm tomorrow night.

That would be perfect for Nth Gippsland, as long as not too much wind is involved.

Windy cool 10C here today. TBH feels like late winter or early spring. Grass is growing and buds on plants. Bit early.

Tomorrow’s front looks like packing quite a punch with a solid rain band which could be heavy. Squally wind change and perhaps a rumble. Colder after it, though not that wintery with snow mainly staying in the alps.

A chilly 11.7c here today after a frost this morning.

Worth noting that Alice Springs just had its hottest July day today - 31.8c. Some of that warmth will drift into Northern Vic tomorrow ahead of the front. Mid next week looks cold again. Probably looking at 15-20mm over the next few days.

Hume Dam is getting huge inflows and should fill in the next few weeks.

Cracking front for later today. Can see frontogenesis back in the bight with a decent link to the tropics. Looks like a solid 10-30mm for most, peaking over east central through the northeast. Snow levels drop to about 900m tomorrow morning.

That heat in northern Australia is crazy. Been persistent for a week with anomalies of more than 4-6C. Have seen four of the five hottest July days on record up there. There’s only day comparable in the records back in 2016. Before then nothing close to what we’ve seen this past week :?

Sunny morning here ruined by constant disgusting windy filth. :cussing:

Looking forward to the front later on today. Here's hoping we get something that's at least measurable in terms of rainfall.
