Lowest Baro here was 990 Hpa earlier this afternoon. I saw 989 HPa in Sept 2010 and Feb 2005. And both those systems dumped enormous quantities of rain (85 and 50 mm respectfully). This one only 12mm thus far....

Back to winter proper here today. Rain most the day, fog, blustery winds and 9 mm in the gauge. Showers on and off now, increasing in the south on Saturday. EC is pushing snow level down to about 500m on the latest run, so might get a bit here. About a front a day atm.

With the “rule” changes I can even drive to the local park for a snow play if it comes good :?

Cool to cold and wet day today but not to much wind, lots of wind and dust in SA, NW Vic and NSW though.

11mm today sure we get that again on Friday and Saturday.

Can see Fridays fronts well south of Australia racing north another big cold blast not as cold as the other week, but a fair bit more moisture with it so alot more rain and snow for much of the SE Alpine aread should see a nice 40 to 60cm

Cold, Wet and windy Friday and Saturday should be fun, lots of rain in the south little for the north.

Rasied dust in SA and NSW today a sign that alot more rain is needed up there, hopfeully that happens this spring and summer.
Bring on the heat and stroms

4mm more overnight here. Cold, wet and windy. Not bumper falls, but slowly adding up. We’ve had a bit less than 20mm for,the thread, so on the lower end of what I expected at this point. That said, the coming weekend always looked the wettest period.

Showery one again today. Not a lot to focus the showers so will be on and off through the day, heaviest in the usual spots.

Now up to 13 mm for the whole week. Maybe another 5mm in the coming days. It's a bit less than originally expected.

Currently partly cloudy and rather windy. Not that cold either.

Not much going on here. 14mm last two days after expecting >20.

"The Blob" looking nice on the sat pic. Hoping we get our second snowfall in 3 weeks Sat AM, and the 30-50 mm we're expecting 😬

Classic spring day here. Sun, cloud, heavy showers (repeat). Just shy of 3mm in the gauge.

Tomorrow looks similar. Wild weekend coming up, though coldest air sits ahead of the wind change so not so sure about low level snow. Bit borderline here, but better if your about 700-800m. Looks like showers then taking till about Tuesday to clear.

I noticed the front came roaring up from the south then virtually stopped at the SW corner of Vic. Does not look good for low level snow, unless the uppers are very cold - which does not seem the case.

Enjoy this next sequence as the SAM goes positive and high pressure dominance for a few weeks to come.

Another 7.5mm here; 21mm for the dates. Adding up nicely with the local creeks and gullies flowing hard.

Dunno. AAO looks ok for the next week or so. MJO is not great atm, but should be back in the right phases by around Sept 7.

We’re up to 15mm this week. Perhaps a bit more in coming days. We just haven’t had the rain that gets the rivers cranking....

Yeah, the following runs after I posted that look a little better. SAM is slight positive going forward. The NW cloud band out west is wasted, not connecting to anything.

We had about half a cm of settled snow this morning and it has been snowing on and off all day.
Just had a really nice period of large flakes.
Snow was falling to around 700m on Mt Macedon.
1.4 min and hanging around 3C now.

Nice one Macedonian!

Tried very hard to snow here just now on the back of a big cell - temp dropped from 6C to 3C in a few minutes.

Lawn is white with 'cheat' snow (mix of sleet and very small hail, with the odd flake if you used your imagination :).)
