Things are brewing. Take a look at the synoptics. Not set in stone but it seems like the stubborn ridge is breaking down.

Also, there's a weak +ve temperature anomaly in the seas almost right the way around the country, which may help fuel any lows that do pass through.

(interestingly, there's a very strong +ve temperature anomaly off the tip of southern WA, right where's it's pouring down currently).

First photo for the day. Nice cover on cold surface, around a cm or two. Still snowing. Temperature is down to 0.2C and still dropping.

1.3 c here with clear sky after initial band that dropped 0.2mm. Light frost on car roofs here. If only we had precip! Next band could be too far away to hit the cold temp here before it rises :(

The Otways doing their thing shredding anything that hits it. So annoying.

Is the flow likely to turn more southerly a little later?

0.6c here at the moment , 0.1c at the Airport. No snow yet.
Looking at the Radar their were 2 bands approaching the first one
weakened right out, 2nd one getting close but showing signs of
weakening too, fingers crossed.

A very light snow fall here, everything is frozen but it is clear as a bell now. No clouds, no more snow for me!
Great to see the dandies had more success.
It is currently -1.5C at my place and still falling.

Yep, looks like it'll be a nice day in fact here. If it wasn't for the cold

Nice start here, extremely cold at -1C. Our first (and well overdue) settled snow for 2020 - last year we had four of those.

Snow that's falling is as dry as I've seen here; blowing around randomly (even straight up!) and collecting in some spots but not others. Hopefully more moisture to come - temperature isn't an issue atm!

Reports of snow at 100m asl in the West, and reports of settling snow in Colac (130m asl).

What time is the coldest air due to come through here ?

Well an hour makes quite a difference, when I got up at 7am it looked like there was a dusting of snow on the tree tops just above the redwoods, went back to bed, got up 8:15am and the only visible snow now is a little bit at the top of the mount. 2c at East Warby when I left home 10-15mins ago, 3c when I got to Warburton, don't know how the snow disappeared of the trees so quick.

Had 2 or 3 snow flurries here. The snow the first one about 7.30am when the temp
was below one the snow started to stick. Black car in the Street looked mostly White for a while.
The last flurry about 9am the snow was a bit wetter and not sticking.
Temp now 1.7c and nothing near here on Radar.
So I think that's it by the time the next shower arrives it will be too warm
