Finally a break in the hot weather with a couple of decent fronts showing up in the outlook. The first today is entering the west, and will bring nice chilly air (for February). 850Ts drop to around 2-3C behind the front so could see the odd flurry at Baw Baw. Looks like a decent showery band on the front, with some coldies behind it. Could well be the odd rumble with small hail about coastal parts.
Second front on the Tuesday looks similar, though details will change. Possibly a bit colder, but synoptics don't look quite as good.
There not much of an infeed from the tropics, so rainfall totals won't be big, but could well see 20-40mm in the wetter spots such as South Gippsland, upper Yarra etc. Rain will make it over the divide, but be light.
Could well see some light frosts at colder locations (e.g., Trentham) which can happen in February, but isn't that common.
Thinking we should see around 20-30mm in the Dandenongs over the two fronts which will be very welcome
