Our cat who usually walks with us to the supermarket - wouldn't today. Didn't like the graupel showers LOL!

My kelpie isn't much better. She's been hibernating in the house most of the day, mainly in her basket. :P

Windy with frequent showers pushing through here during the past hour or so.

Why not just move to Tasmania? It's a wonderful place. I don't live there, but it would be a nice place to live. :-D

One really changeable day up here. One minute brilliant sun and temperature took off, next blowing sideways graupel and back down to 3 or 4C. Max here of 6.8C which is chilly, but nothing that remarkable, while our minimum was 1.9C. Still getting some showers, so adding up still :D

A couple more millimetres here today with a few brief but heavy showers, including graupel for one and hail for another. Plus a rumble of thunder! Most of the day was oscillating between 4c and 6c but snuck up briefly for a maximum of 7c. Might be the odd bit of precipitation tonight but looks like it’s mostly it, with a total of 17mm for the weekend. Great to have a decent burst of winter!

Had an intense snowfall at hanging rock about 11 am but it didn't lie.

Rode up mount Macedon and there was a big blizzard at the top. Snow lying down to about 750/800 on the north side. Very pretty apart from the crazy traffic.

We ended up with 14mm for the weekend. We've just exceeded our August average rainfall and it looks like another system around August 28th.

18mm for us since midnight at Mansfield. Close to 80mm mtd so close to lta. All dams a full or overflowing now and Eildon is finally filling at a decent rate, just exceeding 60%. The ground is saturated here.

Unusual sight of snow falling on the lake today

Friends reporting the quality of snow on Mt Buller today as "premium powder" and that it was thick down to Mirimbah and falling beyond.

Great day.

Wow. Great video. Isn't Lake Eildon only like 250m asl or something like that?

16mm for the thread, 76mm mtd. 100 year August ave is 84.1mm so fairly close now.

That upper low later in the week over NSW is an interesting one to watch for drought declared areas.

3C with fog and drizzle here this morning. Doesn’t get much more miserable :D Feels like a day in Scotland or skiing Mount Buller :hysteria:

About 5mm more overnight :D

Couple of showery days coming up. We are still about 40mm from average, so need it to keep coming (our August average is near 130mm so a wet month out here).

Early frost (-1 degC) and now cloud has rolled in. Cold, that is all.

Crazy pics from the snowfields atm. Hotham has a bus buried under snow on their twitter feed.

This is worth a look until the cloud rolls in: https://mthotham.roundshot.com/

Impressive extent of snow cover in the middle and far distance (you can zoom in).
