Had 4mm on the Bellarine so far, can see some heavy stuff a few k's away. Need to drive through this to Geelong for some grog for the pub. The wind was absolutely crazy this morning, my PWS is not mounted high enough to get good reading of wind speed darn it

Getting absolutely smashed in Safety Beach!

Epic squall line bringing crazy winds, hail and a ton of rain.

Just went down to check the bay, looks more like Gunnamatta than Safety Beah.. EPIC!!!

Rain picking up in FC as the squall line approaches. Approaching 3mm now.

Some significant radar issues with the band now parallel to the radar beam so "invisible" and also the intensity dropping the rain rates as the beam gets attenuated.

Some solid falls showing up with plenty of sites in southern Vic in the 10-25mm range. Just hope it keeps coming...
Rainfall to 9 am: Sheffield 19 mm, Launceston 9 mm, Mt Arthur 17 mm, Scottsdale 7.6 mm, Nunamara 20 mm, Hobart 0.6 mm, St Helens 2.6 mm, Grindelwald 19.6 mm
Tas is having a good run, which is good to see. Must admit that I struggle to think of a time when the difference in rain between northern Tasmania and southern Victoria has been so dramatic. Hopefully the remainder of autumn spreads it around ;)

Opps, got caught out in that, just 10 min from home in the car.

Had to pull over ( as did most people ) literally couldn't see the end of the bonnet.

10mm in the gauge at home. ( just downloading the dash cam :-) )

9mm in quick time with hail and gales in FC. Temperature has dropped to 5C. Hoping this is the start of autumn proper :P

Would expect a decent burst of snow at Lake Mt and Baw Baw when the band hits them.

EDIT> up to 13mm now. Unfortunately our local AWS is blocked.

Easing off here now after really wild conditions over the past hour or so. We're currently on 15.8mm and 8c. Loving this wintry burst!

Got some great slow motion video of the rain and the hail hitting the car as the front came through.

Great video :) Real contrast between the teaming rain and hail and the dry verge on the road!

20mm since about 10am, with 13mm of that falling in about 10 mins around 11:30. AWS says 110mm/hr peak rate. :o
Was in the car at the time, diabolical conditions.
Happy with 20mm, and the follow-up showers. House water tanks are now full, and overflowing into the irrigation tank. Garden is loving it.

Sun is out now. 22mm for me even though the bom site had 25mm. Not usually such a discrepancy.
Very happy with the rain and the temp hasnt been higher than 6.8C since daybreak.
