Issued at 12:58 pm EST on Friday 15 September 2017
In the 24 hours to 9 am Friday, rainfall totals of up to 15mm were recorded in the Greater Melbourne catchments, with a higher isolated total of 29mm recorded at Poley Range.
A cold front approaching from the southwest will cross the State tonight and early Saturday.
Rainfall is forecast for the Greater Melbourne catchments, with totals of 15 to 30 mm possible for the rest of Friday into Saturday, with localised higher falls possible.
Catchments are wet after recent rain. The forecast rainfall is expected to cause stream rises, which may lead to areas of minor flooding developing from Saturday morning.
The Bureau of Meteorology in conjunction with Melbourne Water will continue to monitor the situation and issue catchment specific warnings if and when required.
