Next to no chance making it into the metro area.

Best looking sky so far this Spring. Hoping for a repeat tomorrow and Friday.

Got a great little storm 5-10km northwest of here, but not a drop of rain. Lots of rumbles. Local falls to near 10mm around Ringwood and Bayswater.
Tomorrow looks like a repeat, as does Friday.
Mini burst of heat to start next week. Gonna be a bit of a shock.

Trough over eastern Vic and trough over western Vic today. Complex set up with lots of showers and storm, though light wind will tend to keep them away from the coastal fringe.
Expect them to fire from early arvo. Could get 0.2 or 20mm here. Looks better on the ranges to the east.
Repeat on Friday. There is quite a strong low that’s going to drift across northern Vic, becoming an ECL for the weekend off, about, Gabo Island. More good falls to wrap into Gippsland.

Developing overhead. Me thinks radar will explode very shortly with nice colours

Fairly iffy instability around Melbourne according the most recent Skew-T, I’d expect these thundery showers on the radar to collapse very quickly once the sun gets a bit lower.
