Raining steadily. Some storms West of Griffith in NSW.

Walpeup in the Mallee has had 26mm. We've had about 14mm so far.

First heavy rain I’ve heard, 5.25am

It was mentioned that it was heard dripping down the chimney over night.

Really getting tired of seeing those types of frustrating predictions HB. :(
Hope your wrong. ;)
I mean, if you live in Caroline Springs you live in one of the driest areas in the state. Missing out on rain events like this is kinda par for the course out there dude, it’s been that way out there on a geological timescale 😆

But it’s always entertaining reading. A bit like Tattslotto - sometimes you’re lucky!

Melbourne’s population was sparse out West for most of the 20th century due to the aridity of the region I’m guessing

Woken by heavy rain this morning. 15mm in the gauge since 9am, and still foggy. Tracking pretty much as expected here. Decent falls around the state for the first part, though few spots missed out including parts of the northwest and the city :o Always will be spots that are unlucky :?

Low is close to Mt Gambier and will now move almost due east. The first band is clearing out but the next one will come in as a warp around. This will extend well inland, probably to a bit north of Bendigo so be widespread. Expecting to see heavy falls out here in the Nongs from about 5pm.

We are on nearly 50mm MTD for this thread so tracking pretty well. Would not be surprised to see 50mm more by this time tomorrow here.

BTW, Darwin closing in on 100mm for the past 24 hours and likely to soon score its wettest October day on record. Kinda emphasises the La Niña kicking in.

Got lucky under a heavy shower for a while ended up with 18 mm so far.
Strange shower heavy, but light drops, or maybe I'm just getting deafer!
Edit I see 56 at Warrnambool well outside the warning area, the way it goes.

I know mate. It's just very frustrating that's all. I don't live here by choice either. It's all my wife's fault. :P

Now, having said that we have had 13mm here since yesterday morning, so that makes it just under 30mm so far for the week. Very happy with that result, especially considering we got our lawns mowed & tomatoes into the ground just before it started on Sunday. :D

17mm here, 32mm for the week, 38.5mm mtd. Good start, especially if we can pick up a bit more from the wrap around.

Definately one of the Spots that missed out, just 6.8mm's in the 24 hours to 9am here in Sebastopol.
Ballarat Airport did better with 12mm's. MTD now 26.9mm's - YTD 648mm's.
Can only hope we get a bit more today but not looking that promising at the moment. :x :x

113mm at the Darwin AWS in the last 24 hours. Looks like the beginning of a cracker of a wet season.

Didn’t even hit 10mm. This side of the bay did worse than just about anywhere else in the state.

They barely had a "Build Up" ...

A few more mm this morning. Rather strong NWly winds now.
