Another 55mm here overnight to add to what's been an extraordinary wet start to the year.
At this rate we could be heading for one of our wettest year's for some time.
Caroline Springs, Melbourne's meteorological boredom zone.
21.8mm's up to 9am here - none since. 16.8mm's at Ballarat Airport.
Once again a lot less than further east but still some fairly useful rain.
I was thinking maybe 5 to 10mm's here so I am pretty happy.
Bring on the Next system and I hope it forms a bit further West next time.
Fairly impressed by the euro which pretty much had this outcome progged back when Gordo started this thread, with everywhere bar the southwest seeing good falls. It even had less emphasis on the northeast and more on the west.
Signs of another decent system emerging in 8 or so days.

This is just an amazing 2020 so far. What's this going to do for the Hume Dam do we think?
Not quite sure about Hume but would almost lock in a rise for Lake Eildon within 2 days. Wet like everywhere here. About 40mm so far at Mansfield. Atmosphere is so moisture heavy.
Yeah just an amazing system, been heavy showers and drizzle here on and off all day amazing event still pouring in NSW to which is impressive.
2-3 day totals there just massive GREAT GREAT system same in Qld as well
A big soak for much of the country and so very very welcome and needed for SO SO many now need the follow up for inland areas and more for western and northern Vic
67mm so far this event
285mm YTD just crazy everything wet and green
Since midnight we have received 88.6mm of rain here at Grindelwald (15km north of Launceston elevation 200m). Our second biggest rain event in the 17 years I have kept records here.
46mm overnight and another 16mm today. That’s 62mm for the event, and 72mm MTD. About 20mm off our month average so should get there easy from here. Fantastic system, and with it spreading further west the biblical falls progged over the ranges on some model runs got smeared so looks like major flooding has been avoided
YTD is about 440mm here. Hopefully we can crack the annual average from here. Don’t think we’ve done that since 2012 in the Nongs if my memory is correct and 2011 in the city.

70mm at Mt Macedon.
I was thinking about your bull ants building Mount Fuji’s in your driveway the other day. Seems to have been a more reliable sign of big rain ahead than the models!
85mm all up here. Drizzled fairy constantly today, which gave another 6 or so mm. The ground is well and truly sodden now, with water struggling to drain away. Amazing system and really interesting how it fooled models for the most part as well as the BOM.
MTD is 87.2mm and YTD 306.2mm. A really great start to the year.
45mm in total here, 3 months in a row well above average rainfall wise My new native garden is going bonkers... grevilleas, banksia, kangaroo paws and grafted gums are looking very healthy.
