Incredible conditions here over the past hour. Torrential rain, squally winds, and almost constant thunder. We had a peak rain rate of 154mm/h! So far 45mm in the gauge.
Lots of flash flooding around the property, with water coming right up to the front door.
Still thundering and raining. The rain has eased off now, turning light to moderate. Cool change came through just before it started raining. It’s currently 18c.
It’s back building so it may get heavier again over the next hour.
Stuck under an area of subsidence - the pulsey nature of these storms. A few spits but 0 in the rain garage and might end that way. I did not water the garden in anticipation of this so will be out later to do that.
We got absolutely smashed here! I've never seen that amount of water on the roads in the 12 years I've been living in this area.
Several roads are under water including the new section of Westwood Drive Burnside Heights. It's practically a river.
There is still thunder rolling in the background as I type.
Caroline Springs, Melbourne's meteorological boredom zone.
Up to 4mm here now, so tank getting a top up and garden a wetting of sorts. Can't really be confident about what happens next with the bands back-building, and more firing up to the northwest.
Lost count of the number of close CG. If I got a mm for each crash bang would be past 100mm by now
Area just east of here has been hammered. Monbulk has been under intense echos for about an hour. Local gauges showing over 50mm. Would expect so spots must be on the way to 100mm at this point.
This is not over by a long shot for us judging by the radar.
That total for St Albans would be similar for here considering it's just down the road & the amount of water we have laying around.
By far the best event for 9 years here.

Haha Not such a boring zone then... Upto 12 mls here, smoke haze not too bad at all here.
Melbourne just cracked 15.8mm so the wettest day since December 2018 (again). Geez be nice if this happen weekly for the rest of the year.
Endless rumbles here. Quite amazing. Rain has never got past moderate though. Dragged our self up to 8mm and tank is full. Could well rain for a few more hours yet, but never quite confident. EC suggest it will be showery right through to early arvo tomorrow, so trough really stalls.
Progs are really messy, but showing big falls for the rest of the event. Big difference between them, but overall pattern seems to be for widepread 20-60mm falls, with the best happening on Monday and Tuesday.
