Radar really underestimating this stuff coming through the inner east heading for the city. Much heavier than showing on radar.
My rain gauge has recorded 45mm. Everything is soaked and the creek has minor flooding. It's still coming down strong. I think this about ends the fire risk here for this summer.
Great to see the fire grounds in eastern Victoria get a good drop of rain. Hopefully enough to allow all of them to be contained so they can be put out.
13.4mm here now. It has been switching between thick drizzle and heavier showers for the past couple of hours. Looks like more to come judging from the radar. The CBD is certainly getting a drenching, and more still to come for them.
0 mm here in Launceston. Desperately need something, very dry. We have had only 25mm of rain since November 11th. The last time we had more than 10mm in a day was September 22nd.
Still falling in Bayside. Up to 30mm here so far. Beautiful heavy rain but not torrential. Southbank was awash around 5pm. Melbourne nudging 40mm now.
Just brilliant. Sorry to hear some are missing out on the good falls. Midweek will hopefully deliver to you guys.
Got our first 100mm for today with 104mm at Stratford just north of Sale. Few other sites only an hour or two from the ton. Main low looks to be consolidating near Bairnsdale so starting to wind down a bit through central areas now.. Will dump down on the fires in Gippsland now for a few hours. Great news for them.
Back to drizzle and thick fog here now. Wind has gone swly so could continue for a while yet.
City is starting to tally an impressive number. Have to go back to 43.8mm on December 3 2017 for a higher number
