Above is a report from the Ballarat Courier on the storm in Burrumbeet last night - video included.
204 in the digital gauge and 187mm's in the manual gauge
That's an incredible fall. Imagine if it hit the city?
There were some absolute monsters around yesterday. More to come before the summer's out I hope.
Big booming thunder here and big rain drops just started. Mean looking band running up through the eastern burbs. Already been 10-15mm in quick time just south of here.
Kind of band that could easily drop 25-50mm if you get under it for long.
EDIT> Quick fire 3mm here. Main cell sat about 5km south of here and building. Somewhere is going to get a soaking. Close to 20mm in private gauges around Lysterfield.
I emptied our half full but dirty water tanks in anticipation of this event, so I'm hoping this comes through before the low disappears...
Finding the radar very difficult to read/ follow; about 1mm in the last 24hrs here. That blob south of the heads would 'normally' wrap around and head up towards us, but it has just sat there for several hours giving Bass Strait a good drink . Weird!

Absolutely nothing getting past the forcefield. Cloud now from SE which equals rainshadow.
I give up.
yeah... Not liking the current setup at all to be honest. I know it's too early to call it, but after yesterday's fail, and so far today proving to be boring, I'm not liking my chances for this area
On a positive note, I did get 0.2mm after 9am, so I don't have grounds to complain about the BoM's 100% chance of rain hahahaha
Torrential but small cells across the Dandenong setting up some insane rainfall gradients. 6mm here, but 26mm just 3 km down the road in Belgrave. Our local AWS which is about 1.5km away has had 12mm. Constant rumbles, some within about 500m shaking the windows. So hard to pick what happens next, just a case of radar watching atm with cells coming and going.
Station in Olinda now showing 42mm. Wouldn’t surprise me as they’ve been under orange for about 30 minutes

Big hailstorm in Canberra - extensive damage to cars and broken windows
Friends near treasury next to old Parliament House reckon ever car in the carpark is wrecked. Hail photos showing golf ball or bigger.
Heavy here, but in the edge of it. 9mm so far. Gauges just to the east of us are showing 20 to near 50mm. The band is regenerating right our south so more to come. Some spots near here have now cracked 60mm for the event.
I am at Clayton at work and nothing here, but at home in Belgrave I see they are on 22mm so looks great there. Wish I was there to see it! I am sure Monbulk creek will be flowing strong.
Flooding rain showing up in West Gippsland now. 84mm near Sale. This low is really starting to crank, though being slow moving the rain is training over the same locations.
I'm over it. For the 3rd time today there were good cells coming this way, and then for some reason thye just disappear two or three kilometres before they get here.

Hope the rest of you enjoy it.
(Reverse psychology might just work )
If it is any consolation your old stamping ground of Dandy Nth is faring enough worse, just 0.8mm so far for the last 2 days.
