Thunder and lightning now to go with the rain. Ground is temporarily soaked so this immediate area should safe from lightning strike fires for now.
Lucky you!
No rain here but Woodend had a little.
Gusty northerly and 33C at my place, thank heavens for the high cloud today.

Just had a nasty squall go through!! A funnel of dust was moving down the Werribee river valley, moved up the ridge and passed over houses down the street... haven’t checked for any damage yet.
Reached 39.4c here and currently 37.5c. Horrendous day with the gusty wind. Getting the strongest gusts now between 45 and 50 km/h. Really hoping there is something in the line of showers approaching, but it looks brief and a bit patchy. Anything is better than nothing though!
So far the Max at Ballarat Airport is 39.9c and at my place in Sebastopol it reached 39.1c at 1.47pm and then dropped back to 36c
when those storms where not far away, its back to 38.9c now.
Those storms developed just to the east of Ballarat and are now moving away, had a few drops and that's all.
May have heard one rumble but not sure, may have just been the wind.
No rain at my place for 20 days in a row now, 26 days in a row at Ballarat Airport.
Ballarat does not usually have many hot days just an average of 4.8 days a year over 35c.
This year we have had 19 days over 35c including the last 4 in a row.

Hopefully you might get something from the cell to your west Macedonian? Only a couple of mm here but it felt like double that. Nice to smell rain again! Looks like that's it for now but we'll take it.
Geez thay fire near Bundoora started in the wrong place (ofcourse, they always do). If they don't contain that by the time the change arrives, it'll push it Northeastwards, and there's nothing but bush in that direction, and highly populated areas

That is shocking Dane.
Same here, we only ever got a couple of days above 30 and some years no days above 30 but these days it happens all too easily and frequently. It is foul.

Watching the line of storms break down reminded me why Melbourne is so crap weather-wise.
No sorry Stevco, that title already belongs to my pathetic western suburban area back on the other side of the bay.
Meanwhile back here on the island, the power has gone out. Most of the shops & eateries in Cowes have been forced to closed.
Not good when it's still 34 degrees & right on dinner time.
This cool change needs to hurry along just a tad.
Caroline Springs, Melbourne's meteorological boredom zone.
Wind change through Walkerville. Blowing a gale. Gust to at least 80km/hr.
Band of storms on the wind change west of Geelong. Timing is pretty good for central and north central though forcing is pretty marginal. Showery band overnight should be worth a few mm’s in the south.
