Sounds like all is reasonably well at the moment, Fukushima plant is ok, workers have evacuated to a stronghold within the plant. 1 metre waves felt in Myagi prefecture, less than that in other areas, but these are the initial waves, some larger ones may be on their way.

"Was very very long, but not strong here like last year. Thank goodness! On train now. Hoping no aftershocks tonight."

Japan Meteorological Agency now saying this was an aftershock of last year's quake. There have been further quakes this evening in the 5-6 magnitude.
My brother again:
"...everything was like March 11 last year, just in miniature. Almost same place, same starting soft, then dying down, but then coming back to kick your arse. Ugh! "
