Wow, just read about a newly discovered 'near earth object' - a 26m-diameter asteroid is on a very near miss with earth TONIGHT. Only discovered less than 36hrs ago as well.
Google this: 2012 KP24 for more info...
It is projected to skim by at 0.1 lunar distances, about 30,000 miles away. Still, this is definitely close enough that it can throw out some seriously impressive fireballs with it's debris.
It is calculated to graze us at around 1am in the morning, +/-1hr EST , 15:00UTC.
Could be one to remember....
