A cold, drizzly, windy morning here with 9C, a couple of mm in the gauge and maybe more to come. This whole week has ended up cooler and damper than originally forecast.
Hard to believe there's probably heat lurking a few days away.
Yes it’s going to be a week of huge contrasts if next week is as hot as predicted. Feels like late Autumn here - misty and drizzly and only 11c. Just over 2mm so far.
Damp and drizzling here, everything is so green around town after last weeks downpour coupled with the high humidity this
week, I have had to mow the lawns twice this week.
Just looking at the forecast temps in nw W.A, the town of Newman ( elevation is 540m asl) has 45c
forecast for both the 26th & 27th, I’m guessing that is close to 50c at sea level?
looks like some nice showers developing now.
Some people should get a drop or 2 this arvo.
Stretching a up to Maryborough, just needs to move east a bit.

Where is this rain we have been hearing about?
Very heavy burst of rain here that developed from next to nothing. Could add up quickly if we get a few of those. Jasmine's Access map from yesterday may have been on to something, if anything with more of a western emphasis...
Certainly some nice beefy showers developing Isolated cloud to cloud sparks being picked up over the bays. There are converging winds over Port Philip bay squeezing into the western suburbs of Melbourne at the moment.
Beefy indeed Jasmine! We are just just just on the edge of it here in Cheltenham. Have felt a few drops but nothing significant thus far. Taking in the sky, it appears to be slowly developing overhead, so I'll just keep waiting to find out. Wouldn't mind a nice fall before the hotter weather!
EDIT (4:00PM) - Now it's starting to rain here more solidly.

This is fantastic! Rain intensity at times like last week - maybe not the duration, but we're going to get 10mm easily from this on top of 2mm to 9am - I was expecting maybe 5mm. Great finish to December!
It got over the range, light rain here and it might get heavier. Laverton currently in the convergence sweet spot and up to 18mm already. It should start drifting east soon in Melbourne
