22mm overnight, winter creeks running nicely. 52mm for the thread and August so far. Some even bigger totals just to the south of here. Access C nailed totals on the prefrontal trough north of the range.

Negative SAM is delivering the goods around here.

Really delivered for the northern slopes. Good to see.

6mm in FC overnight, making the best fall for the month so far. Our MTD is about 20mm so tracking behind average, but not by a long way.

Should be a showery arvo, particular in southern areas.

17mm and climbing for the 24 hrs to 9am. Mt Buller looking fabulous and currently snowing heavily with plenty more to come looking at radar and static.

3.3mm overnight here. The westerly flow is not doing us too many favours, but great to see areas to the north doing very well so far this month.

20mm overnight, so 24mm since Sunday. Creeks are running well too which is brilliant.

Probably a little bit more this afternoon looking at the Satpic.

Interestingly there's a warning out for avalanches in the Vic Alps:

Another pathetic result in the western desert, not even half a mm. Yet another fizzer for us. :x

Multi models on the 00z runs this afternoon showing -4c @850 hPa over the Dandenongs early Sunday morning with moisture. The BoM's Melbourne forecast at 4.20pm tomorrow for Saturday night and Sunday morning will probably start mentioning 'possible snow on the Dandenongs' I'd say

-4C is when I start to get interested. It's the usual "cut-off" for snow to about 500m (i.e., the Dandenongs) if precip is present. I've seen it snow occasionally with higher temperatures (-3C) but that usually needs something odd to happen like intense or long-live precipitation.

Picked up another 5mm today so about 6mm for the event. MTD/event now up to about 25mm give or take.

Thinking we should just add more days to the dates on this thread as the sequence keeps rolling :?:

Yep, I think extending the thread dates to the end of the weekend makes sense on this sequence.

I saw some blossom today on a small tree. A sure sign that spring is nearing after an almost non-existent winter so far

According to the local Melbourne water rain gauge Bacchus Marsh has only recorded 55mm of rain
so far this winter. I had to water my north facing native garden this afternoon as some plants were looking
a little stressed.

Chilly night here with a min of 3C. No more in the gauge so 5mm for the last 24 hours.

Nice fairly mild day today, then mild and windy tomorrow. Cracking front for Saturday, though latest models are about 1C milder for Sunday (850Ts about -3 to -4C now) so getting a bit marginal for low level snow (which I tend to think is below 500-600m). Might upgrade on the next run :?:

Blinked and that really good rain sun shower stopped, would have been great to last another hour yesterday,
But considering we're doing rain water pipe alterations it's kinda ok it's dry.
Interesting JS mention of Sunday am, 9am football match, glad it's a little away from Mt D, the last 2 weeks have been bitterly cold wind for the kids to run around in shorts, scores only being one end of the ground..
thanks I will be more prepared for this Sunday Prelimanry

Very frosty at mine this morning. I don't think i've ever seen it as frosty as it was so soon after a rain event.
0.5C at sunrise.
Home- "Shepherd's Bush" at Mt Macedon. 870m
Work- "Bolobek" at Macedon. 430m

Raised dust in the Melbourne forecast - could this be a repeat of the famous dust storm?
